Blue agave has to be the best Mexican restaurant I have been in North Carolina. I live in charlotte and every time I come up here I HAVE to stop here just because it’s so good. From the unlimited chips and beans dips to the service everything is great!!!

I visited with my family exactly a year ago for my nephews birthday and didn’t have a great experience. He chose Blue Agave again this year and once again, didn’t have a great experience. I left a 3 star review last year, and I’ve included the text from that review below this one.

I ordered the Enchiladas Hawaianas which is supposed to come with grilled veggies. It doesn’t specify on the menu what the grilled veggies are but I assumed the general mix of peppers, onions, tomatoes, and zucchini that is mentioned several times on the menu in various places. I requested no zucchini and that didn’t seem to be a problem. My plate came with zero veggies. About fifteen minutes later, I get handed a small plate with broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots that were completely unseasoned and barely microwaved. Those vegetables probably weren’t even in the same room as a grill.

I waited until the server came back to mention it, and I even pointed to my sisters fajitas, stating I thought the grilled veggies would be like what she got; peppers, onions, and tomatoes (no zucchini!), with obvious grill char. The server just said “yeah, no zucchini” and ran off.

I got zero drink refills on the tea I paid $3.49 for. They had also threw away the box that my nephew’s cake had come in, so we ended up having to cut it up to put into five to-go boxes.

I’ve given this restaurant chance after chance and it’s always a disappointment. I’m done. If my nephew chooses this place again for his birthday gathering, I’m not showing up.

I went with a large group to celebrate my nephews birthday last night and the experience wasn’t what I expected. I ordered a quesadilla and when it came out, it didn’t look like a quesadilla at all. I chose a quesadilla for the fact I could pick it up and also easily share with my daughter if she wanted some but I was forced to eat it with a fork. The sour cream was really runny and made me feel like it wasnt at the right temp so I didn’t eat it. The rice portion was also smaller than literally any other Mexican restaurant in the area.

I wasn’t the only one disappointed by their meal. My aunt ordered the taquitos and while normally taquitos in a restaurant are hand rolled but these looked IDENTICAL to the ones I get in a box of 100 for $9.99 at go grocery. She got four along with her also pitiful portion or rice and beans. She seemed satisfied, but I would have been pissed if that’s what I got.

There were only two mild salsas on the bar and they tasted identical. Everything else was too spicy to eat.

The staff was friendly but also didn’t seem super attentive. Like the server kept handing the ticket to my fiance, even after I was the one to put my card on the tray and hand it back.

Our experience was okay at best. We probably won’t be back unless it’s another family thing where we don’t have a choice in the location.

Huge portions quickly served. The large beers are more than large, enough for two. Food is not spicey but good.

Sat at the bar, 4 big screens, attentive bartender, and bar stools with a back ❤️
Had the Shrimp/Zucchini/Mushroom/Pepper Enchiladas and they were spicy, fresh and amazing. Salsa bar was great. Lived in NM for 12 years and haven’t found a decent Mexican restaurant in NC, well I have now and I will definitely be back

Amazing suggestion from our driver, delicious fresh Mexican food with a sauce bar! And bottomless chips. Food is fairly priced, and portions were sufficient. Would highly recommend to anybody visiting, passing by or locals who haven’t been by yet. Conveniently located less than 5 minutes from the airport for a last minute meal.

We went to Blue Agave for the first time today. My hubby wanted to try something new for his birthday dinner. We definitely had a better experience than either of us imagined! Our waiter was awesome, the drinks were fantastic, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the food was off the charts superb!!! This is single handedly the best Mexican food I have EVER put in my mouth…my hubby barely spoke the entire meal because he was enjoying it so much. I would highly recommend to go here if you are desiring mouth watering goodness!! This is definitely my top choice of anywhere we have been in a very long time!!

I had dinner at Blue Agave last night, and it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Everything from the service to the presentation felt thoughtful and well-done.

We ordered the fajitas served in a half pineapple shell, and they were outstanding. The combination of the sweet pineapple with the savory, perfectly seasoned fajita meat created a flavor mix you don’t find just anywhere. The portion was generous, and the dish arrived sizzling and beautifully presented.

Before the entrée, we enjoyed the chips with salsa and bean dip. The chips were crisp and fresh, the salsa had just the right amount of kick, and the warm bean dip was rich and comforting. It’s rare that the starters are as memorable as the main dish, but Blue Agave delivered on every part of the meal.

Overall, the experience was excellent — great food, great flavors, and a very satisfying dinner. I’d definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Mexican food with a unique twist.

Very fast service with an attentive staff. Don’t let the location being in a hotel sway you, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been too lately. Fresh tasting food and a great salsa bar. Portions are massive compared to the price you pay. I would definitely return

We had a nice dinner. The food and the service was good. The steak, chicken, and shrimp were flavored nicely. They have a salsa bar and the guacamole was fantastic. They have a huge menu, so you know the food isn’t fresh, but they do a good enough job seasoning it that we didn’t mind. We’ll be sure to go back.

My friend recommended this place and I’m
glad we went here. I orderes Steak Ranchero and it was great. Meat was tender and i loved it.

Service was good, our server was attentive and our food was served fast. They did not disappoint. I will definetly come back to try other food in the menu.

Parking space was not an issue when we visited.
