If you love build your own noodle bowls, this spot is a win. The Jersey City location is inside a food hall, and I really liked how customizable everything is so you can match your bowl exactly to your craving They also have locations in Manhattan.

My favorite bowls in order:

Egg ramen and longkou vermicelli with soy sauce chicken in the Sichuan style soup base. This one was packed with flavor and super savory. Definitely richer and thicker, but so good if you want something bold.

Udon noodles with a fried egg and marbled beef in the tom yum soup base. Lighter, a little tangy, and a great balance after the heavier broth.

Nissin ramen and longkou vermicelli with braised pork belly in the beef bone broth. Very comforting and classic.

Perfect spot when you want something customizable, flavorful, and filling. I’ll definitely be back to try more combos

Nice place to build-your-own malatang experience! The customizable hot pot lets you pick fresh ingredients and craft your bowl just the way you like it. The broth is rich and flavorful, perfectly spicy without being overwhelming, and there’s a great variety of veggies, noodles, and proteins. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and a fun concept make it a go-to spot for comforting Asian cuisine. Highly recommend trying the signature beef broth and wagyu if available!

I stopped into this restaurant for dinner. It was located inside the food court. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I ordered to dishes:

Spinach, beans sprouts, Udon, Corn, Potato, Crabmeat Sticks, Shrimp with Signature beef broth
Green Leaf Letuce, Egg ramen, Whitaker Mushroom, corn, Wagu, fatty beef with Sichuan Style Broth

It took about 10 minutes each. I loved both dishes and they were so filling! I loved the spice to it as well! All in all a good experience!

This is the best Malatang I’ve ever had! The flavor is amazing, and there are so many fresh ingredients to choose from.

Also, the staff Hang is wonderful — very friendly and helpful! He recommended the perfect combination for me.

Great food, great service, great vibes. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I usually eat here and genuinely like the food, but the service is really inconsistent.

Recently I asked if I could buy the chopped chili peppers they used to include for free on the side. They told me I can only order it online—but that doesn’t even seem to be true. Even when they clearly have it (they said it’s in their fridge), they won’t sell it. When I mentioned how strange that was, they said the owner told them not to sell it. Fine—whatever.

But then I ordered my usual medium-spicy dry mix, and instead of making it the way they normally do, they dumped a big portion of chili from chili oil directly into my food. I’ve ordered this many times and they’ve never prepared it like that before. It honestly felt like it happened because I asked about buying chili on the side.

Delicious malatang made with fresh ingredients in a cozy and spotless space. I drop by nearly every lunchtime because it’s so easy and reliable. The soup base is flavorful yet light, and they let you adjust the spice just right. Everything—from the veggies to the meatballs—always tastes fresh, and the service is fast and polite. Definitely one of my go-to places for a tasty, no-fuss meal.

I really like this place! It’s my go-to spot for a delicious, satisfying meal. You get to choose your own veggies and meats, and the soup bases are flavorful. I especially recommend the tomato base, it’s tasty, customizable, and a healthy option. Since it’s a soup dish, you may need to wait about 10 minutes after ordering for it to be cooked. It’s not fast food, but it’s definitely worth the wait 🙂

If you are vegan/vegetarian or have any food allergies I would highly recommend to avoid this place at all cost.

My “vegan” ramen included various slices of meats. That was neither a part of the item nor a selection. I was mentioned repeatedly that this was a food allergy. Spent the evening in the bathroom.

Order elsewhere, it’s not worth risking your wellbeing..
