What a great restaurant. The menu has a little something for everyone. From pasta to seafood and steaks. After hearing about this place on historical tour I was excited to see the original home. It has warm lightning and a beautiful fire place which was perfect in December. The had fantastic seasonal drinks. The food was amazing. The calamari is a must! I would recommend this for a classy dinner without the snob vibe. Casual but classy. The service was fast and friendly but never pushy. Prices were reasonable for the portions.

Pre date dinner that was nothing short of fantastic. Menu looked good online but food was more thoughtful than the menu suggested.
Cozy interior but not over the top fancy. Had “neighborhood restaurant” vibes. Comfortable environment where food and service are the star.
Pictures are shrimp and grits and southwestern flank steak. Non traditional grits with a grit cake. Shrimp were very flavorful and a bit of smoked sausage mixed in offered bold flavor and a variety of textures. The flank steak was anything but generic. Perfectly cooked, zestfully seasoned (not overly so), and a chili lime dressing that set the steak off. The vegetable medley was a mix of zucchini, squash, bell peppers, and onion with Italian seasoning. Will absolutely be going back, no question.

The Filling Station has been my favorite restaurant in Winston Salem for a long time. I am never disappointed when I dine here. I love their Salmon salad and pretty much everything I have ever eaten. They have a great selection and their brunch menu is delicious!

Dining alfresco on a beautiful afternoon.
The omelettes were wonderful as was the service from our waiter.
Hash browns had a unique mix of ingredients including Cajun (?) spice. Very well made.

We ordered shrimp and grits and the seafood pasta as our entrees, shared the chicken autumn salad and the limoncello spritz. Must say that everything tasted good except for the grits. Grits came with a very very very creamy and cheesy sauce – so unless you like extra creamy, this might be too much. The texture of the grits tasted like it was not done yet. Well cooked grits are usually smooth in texture, yet this one was crumbly and chunky. Other than that, we had a good server who was very calm and put together, which we appreciated. Would come back again.

Made reservations for an early birthday/Father’s Day dinner and man was it amazing.
Service was wonderful, lovely casual yet more upscale setting, and the food was delightful!
Shrimp and grits had a terrific spiciness, the seafood pasta was amazing. We absolutely loved the way the kid’s plate was served and oh man that burger was good!
If you want a nice night out, this is a perfect spot! We will be back!

Our waiter Casey/Kasey was slow. For an upscale restaurant the spinach and crab dip were SMALL dip bowls for sharing and burnt on edges upon appearance. We were a party of 4. We would wait 20 minutes for drinks. Meals were average for the price. Slightly disappointed compared to our other dining experiences. Probably won’t return, but believe I’m more chances.

We were seated right away, they have outside and inside seating. The outside was clean and felt cozy. Lots of space outside and parts of it were covered as well.
The staff were all polite and our waiter was upbeat and nice.
Food was amazing and I am pretty sure I ate to much. We had an appetizer main meal and a dessert, all of which were great.

LOVED IT!! fantastic brunch food. The pimento and prosciutto omelet is amazing. Best hash browns ever due to amazing seasoning chef puts on them. French toast was awesome. Simply all around superior brunch and love sitting in the courtyard. Inside has great charm too. Good coffee as well. Robert the manager is awesome. I cannot believe the pricing either. Shocked it’s not $10 more per plate. Love this place and will always come back. Took college son. He loved it too. This place has my highest recommendation

I went with a friend on New Year’s Day, my first time there utensils not hers. Our waiter was good, helpful, not overbearing and offered the traditional Southern holiday meal but we each chose something different. For me it was a flounder sandwich and it was a 10″ piece of fried fish! We started off with the crab dip and asked for corn chips instead of pita, no problem and no upcharge. I tried a pumpkin spice white Russian from the specials menu. Not bad, not as “spicy” as I expected, which I actually ended up liking.
It was a great day so we sat outside but in the tented area with the heaters but inside and strictly outside seating was available. We found off street parking easily as well around 1pm.
