As told by a Notre Dame fan still basking in the glow of watching Pitt get spiritually, emotionally, and academically dominated.
Walking into Lucky Louie’s Beer & Wieners felt exactly like stepping into the locker room after Notre Dame beats Pittsburgh: full of confidence, full of energy, and full of the kind of joy that reminds you why you wake up in the morning.
I came to town for one reason—to watch Notre Dame absolutely dismantle Pitt—and afterward, I needed a victory meal worthy of the beatdown I just witnessed. Lucky Louie’s did not disappoint. In fact, it performed with more consistency and precision than Pitt’s entire offense.
Let me break it down like a post-game press conference:
Atmosphere — “Fourth Quarter at Notre Dame Stadium” Energy
The moment I walked in, I felt like I was entering a stadium tunnel. The place is buzzing, loud enough to feel alive but not so loud that you can’t whisper “Go Irish” to random strangers. Every table felt like a sideline. Every customer had that “we just watched Pitt get steamrolled” smile. Beautiful.
The Beer — Cold as Pitt’s Chances of Winning
I ordered a beer colder than Pitt’s playoff hopes by mid-season. Perfect pour, perfect temperature, perfect for toasting to yet another Irish victory over our favorite punching bag. If Rudy had been there, he would’ve chugged one.
The Wieners — “Run Up the Score” Good
Let me tell you: these hot dogs?
These hot dogs are Notre Dame-level elite.
I took one bite and immediately felt like Sam Hartman throwing a 60-yard bomb on 3rd and unnecessary. The toppings? Stacked higher than Pitt’s list of excuses. The flavors? More explosive than every time Notre Dame makes their defense look like traffic cones.
I swear, if these wieners were an opponent, Notre Dame would still win—but it’d at least be a respectable matchup.
Service — More Efficient Than a Touchdown Drive
The staff moved more smoothly than Notre Dame’s offense slicing through Pitt’s defense like it’s buttered toast. Friendly, fast, and not once did they look at me weird for muttering, “Did you SEE that score?” to myself every six minutes.
Final Verdict — A Championship Experience
Lucky Louie’s Beer & Wieners didn’t just feed me.
They nourished my soul after witnessing Notre Dame treat Pitt like a warm-up drill.
If you’re in town for a game, a victory lap, or just want to eat something great while silently thanking the football gods for making Pitt our permanent stress-free opponent, Lucky Louie’s is your spot.
Would I return?
Absolutely. Like Notre Dame returning to the end zone against Pitt—again, and again, and again.

What a cute lil gem to find while we were passing thru. This place has outdoor seating that allows leashed dogs. Order inside then its delivered tableside. Wall of beers and ciders to choose from. Amazing hot dog creations. Bun is toasted and the hotdogs are served split and grilled with just thr right snap of crispness. Definitely worth the stop.

Love this place. It’s so fun! If you like beer and hotdogs why not do it with the pizazz of Luckie Louies! Very clever menu, prepared excellently and consistently. The beer selection is great, and it’s always good to see some great craft beers available. Outdoor seating is fun also!

Everybody’s ever been here loves this place. It’s got an amazing selection of absolutely creative and delicious hot dogs. While I am not a drinker there is an incredibly large selection of alcoholic beverages here as well. It’s a wonderful place to have a hot dog and a brew. There is indoor and outdoor seating available as well. And what I like is if you are sitting outside they actually keep condiments and plasticware outside so you don’t have to come all the way back indoors if you don’t want to.

Awesome spot and experience. Got the 2 for 8 deal and my girlfriend got a BLT dog. I got the frank and beans and the Neener wiener. Both dogs were amazing! All toppings you would ever want and all completely fresh. Atmosphere is also top tier. So many good dogs worth trying. A wide variety of beer selection too. A must visit!

The Reuben dog was fantastic, as were the Nachos and Pretzel.

The Place is always a treat! I got the Polish (Chicago style) and it was so good. It really is a good, cool place.
I also picked up the Hard Arsenal Cider, which I haven’t tried yet, but I’m looking forward to it. As always, Thanks, Katie and Abby!

“Best Wiener in America” – I couldn’t agree more with this statement. The hot dogs were of superior quality and the menu items’ combinations were amazing. When I visited with my wife’s family we tried a dozen different items. We had Poutine, Parm and some fries covered in Mac and cheese, all of them fabulous. We had so many different wieners I can’t remember them all but my favourite was the Chicago dog. We drove all the way from Cleveland just to taste the sausages and I would do it again. 10/10
