Was greeted warmly. Bartender was a lot of fun and made great drinks. Dinner was good desert was even better. Had a very sweet waitress and she was on top of everything. Couldn’t have had a better Birthday Day dinner. Thank you Hob Nob.

I’ve been to HobNob before and it was a different experience. It was better before, before being about 3 years ago. Tonight, service was faulty, appetizers, soup, salad came only after asking for it..dinner, i chose the prime rib, medium, end cut, the 1st hunk of meat was tough, bloody, fatty and the baked potato was undercooked. It got sent back, the next hunk of meat was still not an end cut, but now, it was cooked closer to medium well. The 2nd potato was fluffy done.. I took one bite and had it bagged to go. My dogs will eat it tomorrow. I prefer the village supper club further down the street, its small, bare bones decor in fact but, you get a good meal for a decent price. Sorry HobNob. I know you can do better because you used to be better. Try better again, that works better for me.

The recent reviews here have been less than stellar, so we went in with moderate expectations, but were blown away – the gorgeous setting on the lake, friendly attentive service, combined with a classic supper club menu made this a 5 star experience.
My husband ordered a steak and shrimp special which looked amazing, and I had a filet with mushrooms. In view of the menu warning about ordering medium well steaks, I braced myself to be scolded when I requested mine to be cooked this way, but our kind server suggested that it be butterflied to cook more evenly, and it was perfect. Brandy old fashioneds were a great accompaniment.

Delicious food and even better service! Connor did an amazing job as our server last night, he was so kind and attentive. Our glasses were never close to empty and he was very accommodating with my food intolerances. The food was delicious and came out pretty fast too! Had a wonderful time and will definitely be back for that lake view in the summer.

The wife and I first came to the HobNob four years ago and absolutely fell in love with the place, it was an absolutely wonderful experience. So we decided to have our 30th Anniversary dinner here.
We had 5:30 reservations and went early to have cocktails and enjoy the view in their wonderful bar, it didn’t disappoint. We were seated for dinner, Andrew our server was as good as they come, very pleasant. I ordered a double cut of Prime Rib med-rare, French onion soup & garlic mashed potatoes. The wife did the single cut of Prime Rib med, clam chowder & baked potato.
Unfortunately this is where things go a bit south. My prime was rare (almost blue), it looked like they used a hand saw to cut it, and it was served in two pieces, not one thick cut??? My soup and potatoes were fantastic. Four years ago my Prime was a nice thick cut and nothing short of fantastic.
The wife’s prime was rare, again the soup and potato was delicious.
I highly recommend the place but steer away from the Prime Rib unfortunately. This was a pretty big disappointment, hopefully someone there reads these reviews, because they are way better than this.
I’m posting two pics, one from four years ago and the recent one

We dined here years ago and had a different experience with better food and complimentary relish tray which was nostalgic. I thought I would try one of their house specials chicken Oscar and it may be the worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. I wish I had take a picture as it was so poorly presented and looked very unappetizing. The thin chicken breast was almost inedible and seemed previously frozen and tasteless and dry. The crab meat was scant and also not good quality and asparagus seemed frozen and then boiled. I could barely eat it. While I typically speak up and return food that I am paying for and not satisfied, frankly I just was so turned off and wanted to leave. The only thing going for this restaurant is the great view of Lake Michigan. We arrived early enough to enjoy that with our cocktails and then all went down hill. Forgot to mention we started with the oysters Rockefeller which were not great but not awful. We decided to set an extra salad and share the chicken as we didn’t want to eat too much. Turned out we left hungry as we did not finish our meal.
Out kids are in the restaurant business so while we hate to give negative reviews, Hob Nob needs to up their game if they want to compete with restaurants that deliver what they promise.

Overall really good restaurant. Food is excellent. Atmosphere is very nice – seems like a speakeasy from the 50’s, but set right on Lake Michigan.

It was our first time there and the food was great !

A few quirks I would change:
1. Waitress was a bit overbearing. When she approached the table it was as if she was the most importantly thing, even interrupting our conversations.

After wa Sat, it took quite a while for the bread to arrive. And after dinner was served, she could have come a bit sooner to check if everything was to our liking. But the food was great.

2. The booth we sat in was broken – the seat springs were like 50 years old, some missing, some without padding. We had to shift over a bit to sit on a more comfortable spot in the booth. We almost asked to switch to another table. Management should get this fixed.

3. My wife ordered ice tea. Unsweet, non alcoholic. It was $6 ! While a coke was 2.75. But the surprising part was that when she asked for a refill, they brought another one and charged another $6 !! For the prices of the meals at this place, the ice tea should be much less expensive and dont charge for refills.

Overall we had a good experience and would go back again (but sit in different spot and get different waitress).

Food was excellent.

Had a great meal here celebrating our anniversary. I had the weiner schnitzel. It was crispy flavorfull. It was perfect. My husband had the Pork Chop. It was moist and well seasoned. He could have done without the richness of the gravy. No complaints because it was very good. He would just rather leave it off. Old Fashions were also very good, right up there with the best I ever had “old fashions”. Seevice here was very good. You cant beat the view of Lake Michigan!

5 Stars – A Perfect Venue for a Celebration!
I had the pleasure of decorating for my nephew’s graduation from Marquette University at Hobnob on Sheridan Road, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. The staff was incredibly accommodating from the moment we arrived & we were able to set up with ease.

The service was top-notch—especially from our server, Connor. His professionalism, attentiveness, and friendly demeanor stood out and made the evening even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, served hot and right on time.

The event went off without a hitch, and what really makes Hobnob special is the ambiance. As the night goes on, the venue illuminates with a stunning glow—it’s simply gorgeous.

Whether you’re planning a graduation party, dinner gathering, baby shower, or any special event, I highly recommend Hobnob. The process was smooth from start to finish. Thank you, Hobnob, for helping create such a memorable night. Ten out of ten for me!
