The Boat House is a frequent stop for us. Clam chowder is a comfort meal for me, and once I discovered theirs I haven’t gone anywhere else for it since! The food is impeccable as is the view, as is the always friendly staff. The specials menu rotates often so there is always something new and interesting to try. There is a small stage for live music, although I haven’t been lucky enough to catch it yet.

We had a really great lunch here on a gorgeous weekend. I recommend getting there right when they open if you want a good seat, especially on the patio. As we arrived at 12 on the nose, we were sat immediately and overall the service was great. I had a nice rose wine with the ahi appetizer, which was delicious! Followed that up with fish tacos, and could even finish off the third one, but they too were perfectly cooked with a nice little kick from the salsa. Good wine and beer selection to pair with a nice variety of dishes.

Great waterfront view as well! We’ll definitely be back to try out some more of the menu.

A Hidden Gem on the Waterfront!

The Boat House Restaurant in Allyn is an absolute treasure. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a laid-back coastal vibe that makes you feel right at home. The views of Case Inlet are stunning—perfect for a relaxing meal with friends or family.

️ The food? Outstanding. I had the crab cake sandwich and clam chowder. Their clam chowder is rich and comforting, and the sandwich was amazing, some of the best I’ve had in the Pacific Northwest.

Bonus points for being vegetarian and pescatarian friendly, with fresh salads and grilled options that don’t skimp on flavor. The outdoor seating is ideal on sunny days, and the staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beautiful view! Service was prompt and so friendly. The food was AMAZING! Had the cedar plank salmon, and cod fish and chips. Tlaze on the salmon is sweet and savory. Batter on the fish and chips is light and crispy. Perfectly finished off with the marionberry crumble! Anticipating visiting again and I haven’t even left yet

The clams were overcooked and lacked seasoning while the macadamia cod was underwhelming. Overall, the experience was just okay, nothing bad, but nothing memorable either.

From Tacoma and went out to visit some friends! Stopped into the Boat House and got the salmon. It was seriously so good! Was not expecting it but was very surprised. Kim was my server and she knocked it out of the park! 5 stars in every way to The Boat House and their staff. Can’t wait to come back out! Well worth the drive.

We love The Boat House. Friday night prime rib is delicious. We order takeout occasionally, and the burger, French dip, and cubano are all delicious. The fries actually travel incredibly well.

During the summer, the vibe is great with the outdoor dining area open.

Had the Prime Rib Dinner and calamari. The calamari looked like fish sticks and tasted ok. I need my tentacles. Prime rib was good and horse radish sauce was on point.

Service was ok. Had to keep asking for water refill.

Bonus was the view. Unfortunately we had to sit inside and didn’t get to enjoy the view and sunshine.

Staff and atmosphere were great. Very neat location and a cool place to eat. The quantities of food, however, were a bit disappointing for the price. Great taste, but the portions were questionable for what we paid. We were from out of state, so it might just have been the economic difference, but we weren’t expecting to pay so much for fish when it’s so close to the coast. Besides the portion/cost ratio, great place.

I have lived in the local area for many years have drove by this place. Always wondering, maybe I should stop in someday.
Decided to stop in, grab a bite to eat.
The gal, working the tables in the restaurant. Was in a little over her head..
She was doing her best.
I ordered the Cuban.
It was like trying to chew on the Mojave desert.
Very dry The meat was cooked well, but just dry.
The sandwich meant well.
Covered with some pickles to try to make it a little bit more juicy than it really was going to be.
There was no helping it.
The atmosphere in this place is awesome. You got a massive view of the puget sound. Nice lawn outdoor patio area.
It’s unfortunate that the food is just subpar now. I can’t speak for everything on the menu. I only tried one thing.
The parking is absolutely horrible.
There is barking on the side. In the parking lot next door but you can’t see that from the road. So when you first drive up or first drive by you look over and see that the front parking lot is full and you just keep on driving because you’re thinking to yourself. There’s no room to park, so I’m not going in there.
That’s unfortunate for them.
I will go back and give the place a second chance. Because I really like the atmosphere.
