Although the restaurant looks smart, the food is a bit diner-esque. Not bad, but not amazing, either. The platter with three meats was okay—nothing really wowed us, aside from the eye-watering price, I suppose. We had hoped that the lamb would be a standout, yet it was just standard. You get the idea. You’ll be able to find a decent meal here, at least.

We were staying at a hotel next to this restaurant and we went to Bautinn to eat around 6 p.m. The restaurant was obviously popular, so it was relatively full and we didn’t get a table, but she wrote down my name and said we could come back in half an hour. We also went down to what looked like a pizza restaurant at the back of the same building, but it had closed, and there was a sign saying that they were now serving their pizzas in Bautinn.
When we came back we got a table for two and sat down and ordered just two pizzas and tap water. We noticed early on that there was some noise in the place, and it increased after we got our food. There was apparently some kind of children’s birthday party at a table not far from us. Crazy increasing noise and no adults present. It got so bad that we finally asked for a box to take the leftovers to the hotel instead, without us saying anything about the reason. However, I think the staff were also a bit upset about the behavior of the children at the other table, but they didn’t say anything either.
Quite ordinary and greasy type pizza and therefore soft bottom (New York Style?), but it tasted okay. Best enjoyed in the hotel room. 7995 ISK total.

They had an amazing lasagna buffet in addition to the menu when we arrived for lunch. Plenty of food and went back for seconds to fill up! Very good lasagna and salad! Buffet cost ~3,700 isk- a very good deal

We saw this restaurant on maps and my son noticed the burger with “bacon jam” so we decided to give it a try.
It was excellent !
I had fish n chips. Icelandic fish and light fluffy texture. Delicious! The fries were crispy and peppery.
The chicken burger was also excellent
I tried Icelandic Gull beer. Loved it
Service was fast and friendly.
It’s decently priced as well.
What’s not to like!? Best choice award from us!

The food was not tasty. I was expecting more and it was ok, but the chips were overcooked and dry. The fish was under salted (or maybe no salt at all). I didn’t particularly enjoyed this meal. The service was great though.

We had a party of six at 6:45 on a Tuesday evening. Everyone ordered things like soup, burgers, fish and chips, pizza and grilled lamb chops. All the orders came out at the same time as expected. Everyone enjoyed what they had. I can only personally say that I tried the pizza which was good and the lamb chops were absolutely fantastic. Lots of flavor, moist and tender.

This is gas station food at an elevated price. We came here on the recommendation of a fellow Icelander in Sigló and regretted our choice. The best part of our meal was nothing having to do with Bautinn, but rather the classic car “cruise” that passed by as we looked out the window!
My partner and I ordered hamburgers and the meat quality was about what you get at a gas station, except that it costs 3500 – 4000 kr.
The drink menu online doesn’t reflect the current prices; my partner paid 2100 kr for a Tuborg Classic. I paid much too much for a elderflower cocktail that was supposed to have blueberries in it and the server failed to say that blueberries weren’t available. My drink showed up and I thought it was the wrong one since it looked so different from my expectations. When we called over another server to explain that the drink didn’t include what was listed on the menu, she stared at us like we were crazy. We asked for the help of a manager and didn’t hear anything back. Then a third server brought me a saucer of blueberries to add to my cocktail, with no comment or apology. What? I wanted them to be incorporated into the drink, not just tossed in.
If you’re hungry, spare yourself the annoyance, save yourself some money, and choose another restaurant!

Had a lunch here in Akureyri next to where we were staying at Hotel Kea. They have a good menu with options for everyone in your family or group including vegetarian and vegan. Our Veg option was the Salad which was a generous and tasty salad. The others had Pulled Pork Sandwich which came with fries and was good and I had the Hamburger with Bacon Jam which was excellent. The fries were a bit dry maybe stuck under a heat lamp for long. The Fish Tacos were E deep fried cod filled tacos and were good. Good place for a quick bite

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!. I ordered “carbonare”, I got pasta that was creamy and you couldn’t even taste the egg, the pasta was swimming in this cream. Without salt and pepper it was just terribly sweet. In addition the bacon that was there was a joke.. pieces so big that you could choke it was rubbery and raw.. I do not recommend it, not tasty!
