Honestly, there isn’t a big difference between premium and regular, so next time we’ll probably do the regular option. Still a great value and definitely worth coming back!
We’ve eaten sushi in Brazil, London, Chile, and the United States, and this was easily one of the best overall. In the U.S., it’s definitely the best we’ve personally tried so far (though to be fair, we still have many places left to explore).
Dinner is $37 per person all-you-can-eat, and our table of four spent about $200. We ordered generously — lots of sashimi, carpaccios, and specialty rolls — and everything arrived beautifully prepared and incredibly fresh. The quality is truly premium despite being all-you-can-eat, which was a great surprise.
The sashimi and carpaccios were excellent, delicate and flavorful, and the menu has so many options that it’s easy to keep discovering new things. The restaurant never made us feel like they were limiting what we ordered — they were generous and attentive throughout.
Service was warm and welcoming. Lucas, our waiter, was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, and Danillo also assisted our table. The host who welcomed us was a very kind and friendly woman who immediately made the atmosphere feel inviting.
Another highlight was the Brazilian-Japanese touch in some of the desserts. The banana with doce de leite, the Romeo and Juliet spring roll, the ice creams with cookies and paçoquinha, and an incredible passion fruit coulis were all memorable surprises.
The restaurant itself is clean, elegant, and calm, with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Even when ordering multiple rounds, the kitchen and staff seemed perfectly attuned, and dishes arrived promptly while the whole experience remained tranquil and enjoyable.
You can really feel the care and pride behind this place.
Next time we’re in Fort Lauderdale, this will definitely be one of our first stops.
This seems like a cash grab. Cheap fish, creatively disguised as fancy sushi. The tempura (fried stuff) tasted like it had been frozen. I feel insulted having to pay $50 with tip for that.
The atmosphere is trying to give upscale, but the greasy floor and monochromatic decor just give lazy.
Wish I had gone to a sushi buffet. At least then I would have earned this super soft stool.
Sent from my toilet.
The sashimi was disappointing. The tuna was absolutely tasteless and felt “plastic.” The white fish was just a fillet of semi-frozen escolar. On the positive side, the salmon was excellent. We also ordered the salmon carpaccio, which turned out to be the same sashimi but, for some reason, covered in pesto sauce.
Overall, the fish selection is small; the entire menu is more or less the same few types of fish prepared in different ways. They have a long list of rolls, and we tried one “Chef’s Roll”—it was actually really delicious.
For a hot dish, we tried the octopus, but we didn’t like it. It was chewy, lacked flavor, and was literally swimming in oil. The dish was uncharacteristically greasy for Japanese food and left a heavy feeling in my stomach for a long time afterward. They also didn’t have draft beer we aked, only bottled.
The bill came to just under $200 for two, including a pre-included service charge, which I didn’t appreciate. We have eaten real, delicious sushi in other places for that kind of money.
Despite this, the place was packed, and it’s clearly very popular. I think the reason for its success is the “All You Can Eat” format, where you can eat a lot for a little money. Naturally, when you don’t have to pay much, there’s less reason to question the quality of the food. It’s probably a great place to spend an evening with family or a large group in a cozy (though slightly stuffy) atmosphere with good service.
However, if you love sushi, you should definitely look for another establishment—of which there are plenty in the city.
Sushi: almost all rolls are salmon and have cream cheese. There are way too many salmon rolls over tuna rolls.
Sashimi: good quality but not a full selection of fish. Salmon/tuna/shrimp/ white
Apps: smaller portions but less flavorful
Desserts: 10/10 deep-fried bananas with Nutella
Service: was fine at first then the service slowed down dramatically as more food came out
Heads up that portions in the AYCE are small, or 1/2 of a roll, so you can taste more dishes in one sitting.
