The food was good and warm. The service could have been better the staff was like a big family also gossiped like a big family. We asked where the bathroom was and the waiter laughed and said it was outside and we went out and saw port-a-potty’s as well as two single stall bathrooms with no toilet paper and little to no soap. The place was dated but I think it gives it charm. Charm was nice but could be cleaner. THE BEST PART WAS THE FRIDGE WAS IN THE DINNING ROOM.

Best seafood in Charleston area for the price! Always new specials, fresh caught seafood, and just the coolest atmosphere and staff. I come here every time I drive by, it is not to be missed!

Friends took me here and it was a delight.
Upon walking in I noticed a rare outside of Tennessee soft drink called SunDrop.
I had crab dip, and catch of the day.
This locally owned restaurant is worth the drive from Charleston.

Myself and two ladies went from the Avian Conservancy Center that had a wonderful presentation and demonstration of wildlife birds to Seewee Restaurant! The place was packed with people! All said their food was delicious! The service was quick the food was hot! I had a delicious fried flounder filet that came with Two amazing hush puppies, my two sides were tender and tasty collards and French fries. One lady lived their red beans and rice. I had a slice of their coconut cake! It was light and moist and tasted amazing! We parked along the side street.

We’ve been going here for years. We went last night and the food and service have really declined. So sad to this icon decline.

First – this is a Southern diner. The food and atmosphere reflect that. It looks like a “hole in the wall” kinda of place, but it is far above that. The service was excellent. They had enough servers, all were friendly & efficient. The hush puppies, fried chicken, fried okra & fried eggplant were delicious. The price was very reasonable too.

I am on a trip to Charleston for work, but was looking for something different than the downtown places. Found this hidden gem. Was a little trek but worth it. The atmosphere is great, especially with the live music and outdoor seating area. The wait staff overall is excellent. My waitress, Natalie was tentative and very friendly! She was hustling too due to the large volume of peeps here. The music was awesome played by Hans Wenzel, a local favorite.
I sampled a lot of food. I can easily say it’s the best She Crab soup I’ve ever had because it’s the only she crab soup I’ve ever had…was outstanding! The deviled crab was good and filling. Local grilled shrimp was excellent. The Mac n cheese was very good, but the sleeper was the potato salad. Drank an unsweetened tea and enjoyed it. Entire meal and experience was satisfying and well worth the drive if you’re not a local. I highly recommend this place. Come out and support your local restaurants and avoid chains!

Rustic old building that’s been around for almost a century. If it was recommended to me by a local I would think it looked too sketchy and drove on by.
If you are into southern seafood (shrimp , flounder , oysters, scallops ) especially fried this place does it right. Lightly breaded, crispy , with just enough seasoning where don’t have drown it with sauces.
I recommend a fried flounder, the fried oyster as well as the onion rings.
She-crab soup was a famous stable but it needed hot sauce to really wake it up.
Just unassuming place once you get inside was nice and cozy. Service was over the top friendly and the food came up pretty fast considering they cook it fresh to order.
The crab cake was okay but I’m also comparing it to fresh flaky thin meet crab cake from Maryland which is kind of unfair.
The prices was reasonable. 6 dollars for the cup of she-crab soup, 35 for the combination seafood platter, 13 for the crab cake.
Not a tourist space. If you are into hole in the wall locations that has good food and excellent friendly service it is definitely worth a stop.

It’s been at least 20 to 25 years since I last visited this restaurant, so when we drove by and spotted it, we just had to turn around and check it out. I’m pleased to say it exceeded my expectations! The ambiance was inviting, and the service was exceptional; our server was attentive and incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you find yourself in the area. It’s a hidden gem worth experiencing!

A restaurant that will not leave anyone indifferent! When you are on the road for a long time, tired and want to relax with good food – this is the seafood restaurant that will not leave you indifferent! You will like everything here: the atmosphere, the service and excellent food. The owner of this restaurant, who is 90 years old, deserves special attention! In her wise years, she continues to manage the business, does not leave ANY CLIENT without attention and talks with him :)) She has a family restaurant business from her parents and a wealth of experience. Be sure to take a short tour of the restaurant and you will find a lot of interesting things there, including an oil painting on the door! We hope to visit this restaurant again next time.
