A Traverse City Gem That Always Delivers
Amical isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience wrapped in warmth, flavor, and style. Tucked along Front Street with a view that perfectly pairs with a glass of wine, this spot captures everything great about Traverse City dining.
The menu is a seasonal masterpiece — creative yet comforting — with dishes that feel both familiar and elevated. The French-inspired flavors hit the sweet spot between rustic and refined, and the service? Always smooth, friendly, and just the right amount of local charm.
Whether it’s brunch with friends, a cozy date night, or a glass of rosé by the fireplace, Amical always feels like the right choice. A true must-visit for anyone who loves food with heart and flair.

We have made Amical our annual birthday celebration spot. The apps, drinks, dinner and dessert are always delicious. The hanger steak was fantastic. We love the atmosphere and the staff! Would highly recommend this place!

Great flavors and ideas. Split the Apple fennel salad and skate on blackened rice with white asparagus. Finished with key lime tart. Servers were on point.

Surroundings relaxing, service fantastic (even in shoulder season) and menu amazing… Grilled octopus starter, peach salad, then rare miso-marinated tuna and roasted lamb shank… BEST I’ve had since we were in New Zealand! But definitely save room for raspberry crème brûlée! Our professional waiter Andrew was exceptional. What a great anniversary dinner!

At the time I had lamb shank that was on the menu for a limited time. It was alright, could have been more tender and flavorful. Service was okay, could have been more attentive. The bread was good. French onion soup was flavorful and hot on a cold day. Jumbo lump crab cakes were decent. Raspberry creme brulee was good. Prices were a little expensive.

The restaurant is pretty but the food doesn’t taste good. The duck confit was too salty and meh, the only good thing was the garlic bread because the cocktails were bad too

I had a wonderful dinner at amical one Saturday evening. I was able to sit right down despite not having a reservation, and the heated patio was quite pleasant. The place is quiet with a nice ambience, and the staff were friendly and professional. I settled on the French onion soup and the gnocchi. The onion soup is phenomenal, and is a must have if you like that type of soup at all. It’s very rich and full of onion flavor. The gnocchi made for an interesting meal. It was delicious, and had some flavor combinations I don’t think I’ve had before with the peas, fennel, and chicken sausage mixed in. The quality of the food is excellent. I’d definitely recommend amical if you’re looking for a more upscale restaurant for a nice meal.

We were so excited to get a table at Amical on a Saturday night! Our server was so kind and attentive and the cocktails were inspiring and refreshing (the crisp martini and the watermelon gin). Dinner was perfection! We got the halibut (poached in butter) on the trout set up (truffle risotto, crisp green beans). Every bite was an experience. We also got the filet. It was cooked as ordered and so flavorful. For dessert, we had the raspberry crème brûlée – the custard was creamy and the addition of raspberries was delightful. This is a must if you are looking for a good spot to eat.

Atmosphere and service were great. Food was meh.. I loved the French onion soup but my duck was flavorless. My husband got the walleye and thought it was good but not worth $44. Our server was great and very attentive.

Amical is always top quality, and their fotmat of specializing in various recipe books that they rotate throughout the year means the menu is different every time you visit. This week it was their Native American recipes , specializing in dishes from the Dakotas/Minnesota. We chose their rabbit, with American vegetables. Also tried from their regular menu the airline Chicken, and topped it off with their signature raspberry creme brule. This is a must-try in Traverse City, and we try to be there at least once per year.
