Angelo’s Picnic Pizza has a long tradition of hand crafting pizzas in the old world Italian style. Angelo, and family, opened the first store in the Hickory Hollow Mall in 1976. He, and his wife, Sara, has opened several locations, including the second location on Murfreesboro Road (opened in 1999). They ran the operation together until his passing in January 2010. Fortunately, the couple raised their family on the art of pizza making, and his sons were able to continue the tradition. At this time Nick and his brother, Joe, currently run the shop, and have move the shops location to Smyrna! They’re sons -both named Angelo (after their beloved father), are already skilled in dough making!
Longstanding spot for foldable slices of NY-style pie also serves lasagna, stromboli & lunch buffet.

I have been going to Angelo’s Picnic Pizza since their first location, and now that they’ve moved to Smyrna, they still have the same great team and even better taste. The pizza was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome the moment we walked in. You can tell everything is made with care. I was looking for a “rustic” pizza spot on the way to my appointment and this hit all the marks. Pizza was perfectly cooked! Had a nice crispy crust and tasty sauce and cheese! Most importantly they accommodated my autistic son by letting him have a plate of pepperonis on the side! I will definitely be back every time I am on that side of town! The owner and the chef were great as well. They were very inviting and made the overall experience even better. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

The wings were hot, crispy, and full of flavor — some of the best I’ve had in Nashville-symrna The new salad was super fresh and had the perfect balance of ingredients. You can tell they care about quality. The staff was friendly and the place had a great vibe. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommended!
