Tangiers: Experience Authentic Mediterranean Flavors in Fayetteville
Tangiers Tea Factory

Reviews
Highly recommend the spicy sauce!
The food can take a little while to come out, and the consistency hasn’t always been perfect. For example, the stuffed grape leaves were decent the first time we tried them, but the second time they were cold and pretty bitter—almost hard to eat. Some of the sides, like the fries, are just okay and don’t really stand out. The rice can be a bit dry, but it is flavorful, and their grilled items are definitely where they shine.
Service has always been friendly, and I appreciate that it’s a local spot doing something different. The inside is very small, so I usually prefer sitting on the balcony or patio. Honestly, I think they’d benefit from a bigger kitchen and maybe a little more variety and consistency.
That said, Fayetteville doesn’t have many sit-down options for Mediterranean food prepared in this style, and I respect that Tangiers is filling that gap. It’s local, it’s friendly, and despite a few inconsistencies, we’ve enjoyed our visits—hence the rating

Where Flavor Meets Peace
Pulling up in the Salt Light Jeep, we were immediately drawn to the bright blue patio and the warm, welcoming energy that Tangiers is known for. We shared the Sampler Plate — creamy hummus, fresh grape leaves, crisp falafel, and soft pita — a flavorful harmony that truly represents three Mediterranean countries on one plate!
Then came the Gyro Salad — tender, perfectly seasoned slices layered over cucumber, feta, and olives, with each bite bursting with freshness and authenticity. ✨
For drinks, Jason chose the Lemon Verbena Tea, smooth with a gentle citrus cream note , while I sipped the Pina Colada Tea, a tropical blend of pineapple, papaya, and hibiscus — sunshine in a cup ☀️.
Fun Fact: Tangiers began as a small gift shop and has since blossomed into a tea factory sourcing clean, flavorful loose-leaf blends from international farms — including their famous Moroccan Mint and other house teas.
️ SaltLight Note: Tangiers is more than a café — it’s a crossroads of culture, flavor, and calm. Every meal feels like a blessing shared, and every cup reminds you to slow down and savor.

Tangiers Mediterranean Café — A True Taste of the Mediterranean Sunshine! ☀️
Today we went back to Tangiers, and once again, it was an amazing experience. We dined outside under the blue sky, enjoying every bite and every breeze. The service was friendly and relaxed, the portions generous, and the flavors absolutely divine!
We ordered the Gyro Salads, perfectly layered with feta, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, and tender slices of gyro meat — seasoned and cooked to perfection. ✨
We also shared the Hummus Sampler, complete with warm pita, dolmas, falafel, and fresh-cut veggies. Everything was bursting with authentic flavor and made with love.
Jason had the Lemon Verbena tea, and I went with the Piña Colada tea — both were light, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. ☕️
Tangiers is one of those rare places where you can taste the care in every dish and feel welcomed like family. If you love fresh Mediterranean food with a touch of sunshine and soul — this is the spot!
