I have been here three times. We always make sure to drive through Knoxville when we can, just to eat here! I have two words for you: TOMATO PIE! It’s a skillet with a simple pie crust, firm ripe tomatoes, caramelized onions, basil and three different cheeses. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever eaten!! Service is fantastic. Stays very busy. Food is exceptional!

New Year’s Eve. Great place for a simple yet scrumptious dinner. Ricardo was an e collection waiter: when they didn’t have the rum i desired (Diplomatico) he brought over a sample of their closest rum in a mini-snifter (Ron Zacapa) that did the trick. Chicken pot pie was excellent and came with a huge salad. Chicken tenders and ribs came with the best slaw. Tenders were perfectly breaded, tender and moist; ribs were a little overcooked and dry on the end ribs – middle ones were good. Definitely a place to return to.

My mom loves it here, it’s some of her favourite chicken. Our server was incredibly friendly, beginning service by complimenting my hair. They were able to make one of their cocktails non-alcoholic to accommodate me and I really enjoyed their banana pudding. I will say, their chicken sandwich is very tall, so I had to deconstruct it to be able to eat it.

I visited Myrtle’s Chicken and Beer for a Friday lunch, and it started off on a great note—easy parking nearby, no wait, and perfect weather for sitting outside. The chicken was definitely the star: cooked just right and plated beautifully. Unfortunately, the sides didn’t impress me as much. The much-talked-about tomato pie lacked seasoning, and the pimento mac and cheese, though creamy and well-prepared, could have used a flavor boost. The salad was fresh but came a bit overdressed—I’d recommend asking for the dressing on the side. Overall, a pleasant experience with great atmosphere, but I left wishing the sides matched the chicken’s quality.

What a gem in downtown Knoxville! The place is spotlessly clean and has such a cute, cozy environment that makes you want to stay a while. The staff is professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which makes the experience even better. The food is absolutely delicious—highly recommend the waffle, it’s perfection! Parking is super convenient too, with a garage just steps away. Definitely a spot worth returning to again and again!

The menu has a wide variety of items, and all looked so good, it was hard to decide. I loved that they had a brunch menu available until 3pm!
I had the fried chicken salad with goat cheese with Nashville hot sauce on the side and sweet potato fries. We also had cheesy biscuits as appetizers. My friend had bone in fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Portions were huge and our waiter was awesome! The only low point was they had Pepsi instead of coke products.

I was impressed by the quality of the fried chicken. The white meat interior was succulent, and the battered exterior was fried to a great crisp.
The blue cheese dip was thick and pleasantly mild, the BBQ sauce had a unique sweetness with a kick, and the honey dijon dressing worked well with the chicken too.
Being a play on words, the Chicken Scratch Pilsner was an unsurprising choice on offer, but most importantly it truly was refreshing and tasty.
