We came here for my husband’s birthday meal before catching a show at MSG and it was absolutely phenomenal! Every single person we met was nice but we really want to highlight the excellent service we received from Mohamed K. He made us feel so welcomed and he is extremely attentive and kind. It was a pleasure to chat with him about various topics. The restaurant got extremely busy at one point and he handled it very well. The food was also fresh and delicious. We really enjoyed the steak frites. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

A high end steakhouse located in the historical Knickerbocker hotel in the heart of Times Square. The food here lives up to expectations, and the service is just as amazing. My favorite dish was the tuna tartare, which was fresh and delicious as well as a very generous portion. We also shared the wagyu flat iron and the surf and turf (which includes a half lobster tail and a filet) so that we could experience a wider selection of their menu. Everything was cooked to perfection and it came with a selection of 4 sauces, all of which paired well with the meats. These includes a bearneise, a chimichurri, one they termed the Charlie Palmer sauce (honestly my favorite it reminded me of the best sort of Thanksgiving gravy and was awesome on the potato puree as well as the steak), and a sort of fancy ketchup. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

What an exceptional dining experience tonight! From the moment we were seated, the service was flawless — attentive, warm, and genuinely caring. You absolutely have to ask for Sera Fin, who turned an ordinary meal into something truly memorable.

Sera anticipated every need before we even asked, offered thoughtful recommendations, and carried an effortless charm that made the evening feel special. Every interaction was professional yet personal, creating the perfect balance between friendliness and elegance.

If you’re visiting this restaurant, do yourself a favor and request Sera Fin — you won’t be disappointed. Outstanding service like this transforms a great meal into an unforgettable night.

This restaurant was great, food was very good and our svc was excellent and it’s in a beautiful hotel.
We had a small issue with the temperature of one of our steaks but they handled it very gracefully, cooked a new one very quickly then took it off our bill anyways! When we got back to our room there was a plate of chocolate covered strawberries, homemade cookies and a bottle of champagne!
They went way out of their way to right a minor wrong that they had already quickly and professionally corrected. We were very impressed by how much sincere effort went into insuring our complete satisfaction.

Thank you Marisa for the great svc and truly wanting to make for a great experience while dining with you. “Excellent waitress with a friendly down to earth personality”

I was extremely disappointed coming to this place. I had a reservation booked months in advance as it was my anniversary and my partner and I were looking forward to a good meal before our first experience seeing a show on Broadway and this place fell short.

We ordered drinks that came relatively quickly and then started with the lobster bisque. Our soup came out decently quick to when we had ordered, but our main entree didn’t arrive until 40 mins after our soup. We gave ourselves plenty of time so we weren’t stressed about that, we just thought it was an incredibly long wait time between courses, especially when we had a 5pm dinner and were the second table seated in the entire dining room at the time.

We both ordered a filet mignon and a side of mashed potatoes. Now I believe any steakhouse should expertly know how to cook a filet regardless of cooking temperature as it’s a staple – but I got a medium rare steak and it was very overdone. Completely brown on the edges and barely any pink in the center, which also made it tough to cut through. The potatoes were also bland, needed at least some salt, and the lobster bisque left more to be desired.

Not to mention, our server checked on us once outside of taking our order, never came back to ask for a second round of drinks; and when we gave feedback on our food she didn’t seem to care.

Long story short, if you’re looking for a good meal to splurge on a little then do not go here. This meal was not worth the $315 it was (for two steaks, one side and two drinks). Will not be going back.

The atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant alone made it a wonderful place to sit and share drinks and a meal with family. In addition to that, the service was impeccable! We were greeted immediately upon arrival and quickly taken care of by their amazing staff. Our server, Haley, was great at checking in consistently, giving menu recommendations, and creating conversation that made the experience all the more worthwhile. She was just the best! Certainly an enjoyable dining experience all around.

First off, I was pleasantly surprised by the food! The tuna tartare and the jumbo prawns were fresh and flavorful. My NY strip was cooked perfectly. Mac and cheese was creamy. For dessert, get the cookies. I know, I know. But trust me. Secondly, Morgan was our server and she was incredible. Professional, knew the menu like the back of her hand, did not interrupt too often and truly made us feel welcomed throughout the entire dinner. Ask to sit in her section, she adds to the experience.

I am glad I went to this place – I made reservation but there was a change of plan, but I still tried to make it. The steak was amazing – very tender and juicy, I actually eat too much because it was good. The mushroom was cooked in a unique way – I liked it but I always love mushrooms. The dessert and coffee was just a great closure of an amazing dinner. The service was very good – they went ways to get decaf coffee from a different place as they don’t have it at the moment.

We are staying at the knickerbocker, for convenience we decided to eat at the steakhouse after a long day of traveling.

Everyone’s food was just ok…..underwhelming. My two teens felt that the salmon dish and clam bucatini, respectively, was just average. I might have considered that simply teenage taste buds, although my daughter has been with me to many fine-dining restaurants in her past.

My ribeye was tender but honestly kind of blah as well flavor-wise. So was the asparagus I ordered. Although crisp, it had no flavor popping at all. It was advertised to be served with a lemon sauce, it seemed mostly butter with very little lemon.

Honestly surprised going back and reading all these highly rated reviews!! Like I said, nothing terrible but certainly nothing to write home about, especially at this price point, and given another stay at the knickerbocker, I will choose somewhere else to eat. My server was very nice though
