Were to start!? It has been years since I’ve been to a Jack in Box mainly due to access. It was totally dead inside and drive through. Except for the 3 Uber drivers. We waited at the counter for about 8 minutes when we discovered the screen that let us create our own order. That was pretty nice. 5 minutes later the cashier asked for our receipt and proceeded to re-enter the order from the print out. Honestly it would have taken less time to look at us and ask us what we wanted. I am not going to bag on the staff. They were doing the best they could between the TWO of them. We set to find a seat but every table was filthy and the floor was sticky. The picnic tables in rest stops are cleaner. The interior was un maintained and hadn’t seen a face-lift in many many years. Our food was brought out to us unceremoniously in a take out bag right at 39 minutes since we entered.
FOOD: West ordered a Sourdough Jack, Bacon Swiss and Jr Jack. Added large curly fries and shared a regular root beer. The only sandwich that could be construed as warm was the SD Jack. But it was floppy and mushy. Pic of the uninspired sandwich included. The other 2 were absolutely cold. To the point we asked for them to microwave them. The team member instead remade them. The curly fries were one big clump and a bunch of half inch pieces. Clear indicator they had not maintained their frozen state during transport or storage. Overall value? I give this a minus 10. The bacon? Was so thin it seemed more like a slide prep for a microscope. The meat? I’ve left more meat on the ground when I crashed a bicycle as a child. The bathroom was right on par with a non affiliated interstate gas station.
This location? Should be a HARD PASS.
Anyway, we ordered their new mini chimi bang bangs, tacos, 2 snack wraps (one classic and one spicy), and a free large curly fry. Once again, the only reason we ate there. We get back home to West Salem and they forgot to give us our fries!!!
First the good… The new chimi bang bangs are so yummy. But they are super tiny and not worth the $3 for 3 at a $1 each. It should be priced at 5 for $3. But they are really good. The chicken snack wraps were huge for $3.29. We had only had them once when they first came out and they were super tiny and not worth the price so we never got them again. But we decided to give them another try and we were pleasantly surprised at the size. However, I got the spicy one which is supposed to have jalapeños on it and instead they had pickles which is supposed to be on the classic, not the spicy one. Neither of us are a big fan of the good good sauce, the regular or the spicy. If you aren’t a fan, you can opt to remove the sauce. I’m i’m sure some people love it. It has a sweetness to it that neither of us care for. We much more prefer Carl’s Jr.’s snack wraps with ranch on one and spicy Diablo sauce on the other. However, they are nowhere near as big as these were. But the real disappointment was in my favorite menu item, their tacos. It was very clear that the oil was old and it was so greasy. It literally gave me a stomachache as soon as I finished eating.
We used to eat at Jack-in-the-Box a couple times a week, but stopped doing that years ago after the food quality had declined over the years. I don’t believe it’s necessarily a Jack-in-the-Box issue as much as it is a Salem Jack-in-the-Box issue. We’ve eaten JIB many times in other cities and states and they’ve always been great. But honestly, I just don’t think we’ll be back. We’ve just given them too many chances and we are disappointed every time.
But the service was excellent. The only reason I gave four stars for the service was because they should’ve checked and made sure the fries were in the bag. But the customer service, itself, was excellent.

This is the definitely the worst Jack in the box in the Willamette Valley and probably the worst one I have been to in ANY state. Avoid this place like they plague.
10/2023: The staff is consistantly rude and rarely get the order correct. When I ask them to correct the order, they argue with me about what I ordered (Why would anyone order something that they are allergic to?)
The lobby is locked every time I come, despite signs saying that it’s open. I don’t like eating in my car.
Not to mention that I placed an online pick up order not knowing that they were closed cause again they are advertised as drive thru open 24hrs. I got there and saw they were closed and was confused as to why they would continue to take online orders if they are closed. After walking around the building an employee let me know they just opened again and it would be a wait til my order was ready. I waited over 20 minutes ( from my time of getting to this location) for order I placed online that was supposed to be ready in less tab. 10 minutes. In total I waited until around 8:40pm for an order that was supposed to be ready at 8:10pm.
Custom order:
Chicken sandwich, add a patty.
Add bacon.
Add cheese.
Add pickle.
An order of eggrolls.
That’s all.

Holy crap.
Edited: no bacon on chicken sandwich after waiting for 10-15-20 minutes.
Inwill be telling people to avoid this location; tis no wonder your franchise is going under.
