The food was amazing! It’s been years since I’ve been here. My wife got a mountain of popcorn shrimp, and I got the freshest flounder I’ve had in years, perfectly seasoned! Evelyn, our waitress was prompt and timed everything perfectly. My water never even got low.

I recently ate at the Mayflower in Winston Salem and it was wonderful, so when I passed by the one in Ashboro, I decided to stop in for lunch.
Waitress brought my drink and took my order. I ordered the popcorn shrimp with a baked potato. She asked me what dressing I wanted so I told her. I thought it odd as I normally don’t get a salad with my order but I normally order the special and today, popcorn shrimp was not on special. I assumed (and I know what that means) that since it was not the special, a salad must come with the meal.
Anywho, my food comes out and its broiled. I didn’t ask for it to be broiled and when I said that, the waitress said “oh, you were looking at the broiled side of the menu, I should have asked, I will get you fried”.
She brings it out, I begin to eat and the ketchup tasted like it was bad. It was horrible. I got another bottle from another table and same thing. So they use horrible generic ketchup here. If you need ketchup, don’t come here. The baked potato was so over cooked, I could hardly cut the potato open to eat it.
I asked for a to go box, never got one. I saw where there were and got up and got one myself.
I go to pay, no one in the front, so I had to stand their and wait for a while. The guy rings me up and the total was not correct. I mentioned that and he said you got a salad. I said, I didn’t order a salad. He brought the waitress up and she explained that I had ordered the wrong thing and a salad came with the broiled shrimp. I did not order the wrong thing. Never one time in my many, many years of eating at the Mayflower have I ever ordered popcorn shrimp and been asked “broiled or fried”. It always comes out fried. So they charged me extra for the salad, which I hardly even ate because I DID NOT ORDER A SALAD.
Between the service, the food and them accusing me of ordering the wrong food and charging me for it, I will not be coming back to the Asheboro Mayflower

We were very disappointed in Sunday during our visit for lunch. We had a good waitress but was forced to listen to a loud ballgame over the radio. We were not able to hear our own conversations. When I asked that they turn it down I was completely ignored! I guess an employee desire to listen to a ballgame at work was more important that keeping costumer happy. Get your priorities straight people if you going to run a restaurant!Not professional at all!!!! We will not be returning! There were a total of 21 of us.

The manager is a Liar and does not care about taking care of a 30 year plus customer over getting a order corrected that he promised to fix so I will never spend another penny there again sad that a little shrimp and scallops is that important to him instead of making the customer happy that we paid for bad management practices

We went here to the Mayflower Seafood Restaurant in Asheboro and the food was delicious and the service was great. The walls I found out was done by a school teacher in WV. She from what I was told did it all by hand and it is beautiful. So if you get a chance to go the service is great and the food is awesome and I fell in love with the place.

I have heard so much about the burgers (yes I know, you don’t get burgers from a seafood place) well let me just say this….go get a burger at Mayflower! It was awesome!!! Sweet potatoes fries were cooked perfectly as well.
