The Riverwoods location does have a secret weapon… the cashier, Mateo. This young man remembers my favorite order, and is consistently pleasant and engaging. Mateo goes the extra mile to make our experience there the best it can be.
P.S. One more important thing– the Perrin sizes at R&R are much larger for the same price, compared to other local barbecue places.
When we sat down we noticed some cleaning has been skipped out on in a while. Splatter of bbq sauce all over the half wall.
Being from Texas this definitely isn’t real BBQ. Im sorry but missed the mark.
Also, they didn’t bring out people’s food in the right order. I saw four couples around me getting one person meal first and the other’s meal took a long long time. They didn’t get their food until the other people finished their meals.
Sweet potato fries were not fully cooked.
Most of the table had no paper towels. I had to ask the other table if I can take some from them.
Employees were soooo slow.
Disappointed so much and not coming back. Especially with that fatty brisket. I just can’t believe they charge 2.50 dollars extra for that “brisket”. Or maybe just the employee didn’t know what brisket was supposed to look like. Either way, what a depressing meal.

The food is in the $10-20 range. Reasonably affordable, but adds up quickly if taking a family out to eat on a budget.
One of the ice machines wasn’t filled, and the chairs are pretty loud squeaking on the floor. But those are really small things. The bathrooms were clean, and that’s a small thing, too, but definitely a positive.
Overall, good experience.
Food quality was mediocre; meats dry and flavorless. A bit pricey for what you get. Stand in line to order like it’s fast food, no table service and spent $24 per person just for an entree (no drink, no dessert, not including tip).
