Reviews
-The food was okay but didn’t give for those prices. Entrees don’t come with sides. Sides also came warm.
-The service was disappointing from the start. We had to ask for water, and we even had to remind the server about bringing napkins. Some of our orders were wrong, and everything took a long time — even getting a to-go box. We waited about 30 minutes just for boxes, which was extremely frustrating.
-The food itself was exceptional. That’s truly what saved the experience. The live music performance also helped a lot — it kept me calm during moments when I was irritated from all the waiting.
-What really disappointed me was the third-party photography service. Before even taking the pictures, the photographer told me a specific price and said she would give me a “birthday discount,” which I didn’t ask for. However, when it came time to pay, the price suddenly changed. Then she repeated the same incorrect price again, which made the situation feel dishonest and unprofessional.
-We negotiated a final price and paid about an hour before leaving. The remaining photos were supposed to be sent digitally. When it was time to go, the pictures still had not been sent, which caused even more waiting. I approached the manager for help, but he said it had nothing to do with them because it was a third-party service. No effort was made to assist or resolve the issue. I was left waiting at the bar for the photography staff to return, and no employees checked on me to see if I needed anything.
-Overall, the food and live music were great, but the inattentive service, long waits, and lack of accountability took away from what should have been a special birthday experience.
Pros: the ambience is very beautiful and the live music was great—a little loud but the woman singing had a great voice and was singing lovely songs.
Cons:
-we had a party of 2 reservation where they give a 15 min grace period before the reservation is canceled but we weren’t seated until 30 mins after our reservation time
-once we were seated it took our server nearly 20 mins to take our order. We ordered drinks/food and it took over 30 mins for the drinks to arrive. The food came before the drinks. Unreal.
-they charge a bs “restaurant fee” as a way to take advantage of patrons. There’s literally no purpose of this fee. When we asked the server what the fee was. She said it was an “incidental feel in case we break any glasses.” Needless to say, we did not break any glasses.
-online it says that they only charge automatic gratuity on parties 6 or more yet they masked the the automatic gratuity as a “20% service fee” then had a line on the receipt offering tip suggestions as if the service fee wasn’t the tip (bc we asked and the service fee WAS the tip). It was just a deliberate ploy to manipulate customers into thinking the tip wasn’t included and that a tip needed to be added. Very distasteful, especially when the service was extremely awful. I’ve worked in service before and respect tipping but to expect a substantial tip on poor service is ridiculous.
-As much as I would love to support black owned businesses, they continuously try to be greedy and take advantage of customers. They always overcharge and under deliver. Won’t be going back.
My friends and I had the Lamb, seafood gumbo wich can be a meal, stuffed chicken, kale greens, potatoes. Glad to finally have food that taste amazing in Atlanta! The only downside is, the food wasn’t hot, it was lukewarm on the verge of being cold but it was still delicious!
The warm towels and wonderful table service from Teddy was top tier! He was so helpful and knowable of the menu. He is a sweet heart and was very patient! I can’t wait to come back! Ask for Teddy!
