Update:
The restaurant’s response contains a false claim. This was a take-out order, not a dine-in visit. There was no opportunity for the staff to address concerns at the time, because all issues were discovered after we opened the food at home.

Claiming that a resolution was offered during the visit directly contradicts the nature of a take-out order and raises a serious red flag about accountability. Instead of acknowledging the actual problem—poor portioning and lack of flavor—the response deflects responsibility.

Given this misleading statement, even 2 stars is more generous than this experience deserves. If zero stars were an option, that would be a more accurate rating.

Unfortunately, I was hoping to enjoy the food, not to get disappointed. This was a to-go order and a complete waste of time. The chicken shawarma was bland and forgettable. The chicken sub was the worst I’ve ever had, a tasteless micro-sub that felt like a joke.

This business is supposed to be about hospitality and enjoyment, but whoever manages this place clearly doesn’t understand that concept. I ordered chicken across the entire order so not an expensive ingredient yet the portions were shockingly small and completely lacking flavor.

The only decent item was the tawook extra, which is the sole reason this gets 2 stars instead of 1. Would not order again and won’t recommend it.

I ordered 2 Hawaiian smoothies with no banana and I got a cup of ice water . Upon walking in the house I dropped one when I walked into the house and the cup split open and splattered everywhere on my kitchen floor. I called and told the girl who had just made it for me & she told me there was nothing she could do about it, I’d have to pay for another one. Which is really messed up in my opinion because my family spends a lot of money here on big orders all the time ( Kyle Armstrong ) and this is the customer service I get from them. I understand it wasn’t there fault but the lack of care and not to even try to accommodate me just this one time makes me not want to spend another dollar here ever again. To be so stingy is crazy to me especially to a repeating customer. I told her I have a picture for proof and she said sorry you have to pay for another one. Very disappointed in this place. Truly. I’ll just start back going to VARA juice everyday. Customer service goes along way….. you guys make way too much money to act this way to the ones who puts money into your business everyday.

Great experience midday during the afternoon. Definitely not too much and not too little. The food was good and the environment was chill for someone just picking up lunch. I could tell the cook cared about his prep and presentation.

The tahini genuinely tastes like armpits. I am genuinely appalled. I have never been to a place that serves authentic mediterranean cuisine that has tahini like this.It tastes so crazy my brain couldn’t even comprehend it. Wow. Just wow.

I have been regularly going to Kabob Inn for over 15 years and I’ve never been disappointed. The food is phenomenal, the service is excellent, and the staff is top notch. Kabob Inn has the best fattoush and chicken shawarma sandwiches in the Metro Detroit area. Kabob Inn will continue to be my go to spot for excellent arabic food.

Food was decent but a little on the pricey side. They also don’t do any special requests for a side. The garlic sauce and pickles are really good though. The restaurant was clean and restrooms were available. Not a lot of parking is available, but they do offer take out and to-go orders. Easy to find location right off the main road.

Update #3 (I hope the final one) The restaurant contacted me about my review, and they expressed the desire to make things right. They have made some changes that have prompted me to alter my review.

I received an apology, and I believe it to be genuine. Most importantly, I received an amazingly beautiful replacement salad!!! With the promise that it would not happen again. I purchase a lot of food here and pay a little more because of the quality. I hope that going forward that I will not have another experience like this one.

Restaurants are not perfect; I just expect that they will correct mistakes that render your food inedible. Here’s a new picture.

But I’m only giving 4 stars because I did not get the feta cheese that I requested. I mistakenly confused the garlic paste for the cheese when I picked it up.

Update…. Note the response from the owner. There is no offer to make a decent salad as compensation because of my negative experience TWICE. You can clearly see how awful it looked. Here is another picture. All I was offered was an opportunity to take more of my money. I live near Dearborn. There is no reason that I would pay for another salad at this place.

If you want an overpriced fattoush salad with a very large amount of brown and white lettuce, and freezer burned cucumbers this is the place for you. And as an added bonus the staff people are condescending and rude when you have the nerve to complain.

I called about the quality of the first salad and I was instructed to refrigerate it and return for a new one. (Telling me to put it in the refrigerator makes me worry that they will be reusing the ingredients in someone else’s order.) When I did return, this picture is what I received. I also asked for a side order of shawarma chicken with the replaced salad, and I was told I had to pay for that. I knew that it was an additional item that I had to pay for, but where is the customer service? I think an offer to give me the chicken for free would have been a nice gesture, especially since I had to suffer the inconvenience and extra cost of returning it back to them.

Because the quality of the food has gone down while the prices are continuing to rise, I will not be returning.

Kabob Inn exceeded expectations with their flavorful and unique sandwiches.

The charcoal chicken sandwich was outstanding. The addition of sumac elevated the flavor and aroma, making it truly memorable.

The meat shawarma markouk sandwich was light, delicious, and perfectly spiced. The balance of flavors made it one of the best shawarmas I’ve had.

The tawook extra was also a standout. The chicken dressed with zaatar on the outside, combined with garlic and oregano, created a unique and delicious twist.

Overall, Kabob Inn delivers amazing quality, fresh ingredients, and creative flavor combinations. Highly recommended.
