The restaurant felt old and in need of a make over. The food was fair, the shrimp in a basket was tiny shrimp that should have been an embarrassment to serve. The eggplant was so hot temperature wise it had to have been microwaved. It was 90 % spaghetti and 10% eggplant. The salad was the only good thing I was served. The marinara sauce was bitter. The server was superb. Very disappointing experience.

A Hidden Gem That Feels Like Italy in the Heart of York County!

On my way to New York, I stumbled upon a charming Italian home style restaurant tucked away in York—and what a delightful surprise it was! I tried the Chicken Marsala, and it absolutely blew me away. The flavors were rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced—true to the soul of Italian cooking. The portion size was generous, perfect for a satisfying meal. The cozy, inviting décor instantly made me feel at home.

Having visited Italy several times, I can honestly say this place captures the heart and warmth of authentic Italian cuisine. A must-visit for anyone who loves good food and great ambiance!

When we returned to York from Upstate NY, my husband and I missed the portions and decadent flavors of good authentic Italian…until we found this place (after 8 years!). It was one of the only places we visited that wasn’t booked solid for Valentine’s Day, due to its casual, diner-like atmosphere. However, our Tour of Sicily, Chicken Alfredo and Tiramisu were everything we could want, and sent us out with a heavy bag of leftovers for our lazy Sunday afternoon. No regrets! The waitress told us that all the food is good and the owners are the real deal, from Sicily. We think this place could be something really special if they replaced booths with cloth covered tables and made an elegant menu design. Bring in some live romantic Italian music, candles, and when the get the word out it could win over a whole new generation of patrons as the perfect date night spot. The food and prices are already there (although perhaps some minor revamping for the keto, vegetarian, GF friends).

Solid Italian food. The pasta was great and I really enjoyed their stromboli. The menu has a good variety to choose from. The only thing I didn’t care for was their tiramisu.

We are always impressed with the service and food at Marino’s. The pasta primavera is exceptional – prepared with an amazing variety of vegetables, perfectly prepared and seasoned. My husband is always delighted with the rich and flavorful spaghetti carbonara. The pasta meals come with a salad and garlic bread. All the staff members we encountered were friendly, attentive and efficient.
Everything is reasonably priced. What a treat!

Great little informal Italian restaurant! The vibe is like that of a diner. The staff were very kind, helpful, and efficient.

Our main pasta dishes were excellent, as well as the starter Cesar salad and broccoli-cheddar soup. Those get 5 stars.

The garlic bread was dry, hard, and mostly flavorless. It’s unfortunate, because the loaf of bread from which it was made was probably fresh and delicious at some point. Probably would have been better to serve a sliced loaf of fresh bread along with butter.

If you’re looking for spectacular pizza, this is not the place–but it gets the job done! It was very greasy as you can see in the photo, and there is not much crisp, crunch, or leoparding to the crust. Though the slices did hold their structure and did not droop from the weight. On the scale where “everybody knows the rules”, I give it 6.7 out of 10.

My order was from takeout so the service and atmosphere are irrelevant in this case. I ordered a LARGE chop cheese steak Stromboli and no EXTRA dipping sauce. What I received was no larger than a sub in size and even less in filling and not a single cup of sauce. I have ordered from here on numerous occasions and this is not what we have received in the past. I tried calling numerous times and cannot even get through to talk to someone so that’s what led me to leave a review.

The staff were prompt at greeting us & offering a seating selection even though we just needed to order food to go. They are extremely friendly & helpful in answering our questions in regards to meal selection. Our food was prepared in a very reasonable amount of time and was in very plentiful portions.

Very good pizza and pasta house. We orders their special pizza, loaded with toppings and the price was not that bad at all. The biggest issue we had was our server that night was a little slow, but the food was still good. The environment seemed clean and everyone was friendly nevertheless.
