We took a few days for pre-Thanksgiving trip to Lake Geneva and wanted to try the Frosted Barrel Experience at our first time at Magpie’s Den & Pen. It was a cold day but the outside barrels are cozy, comfy and heated. It was very comfortable and the atmosphere relaxing. The food was great and so was our server, Ambrazia! We had a nice view of the White River in a fall setting. Overall a very nice experience and highly recommended. We’ll definitely do this again!

Our server, Taylor, was friendly and attentive. My husband had a smash burger and said it was good. I had the chili which was very hearty and had just the right amount of spice. The cheesy buffalo dip appetizer was good, I wish there had been more compared to the number of corn chips it was served with.

This was our first time at Magpies, and it did not disappoint! Bri was a fabulous bartender. She was friendly and made great recommendations on other local spots. We very much enjoyed the Japanese Chicken Sandwich with fries. The Spiced peach old fashioned was also incredible! Can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I had such a great dinner at Magpie’s Den & Pen tonight! The food was fantastic (the Northwoods pickles were a standout), and even though it was busy, everything came out fast. Our waitress was wonderful. She accidentally poured my husband’s beer twice and let him keep the extra at no charge, which was such a thoughtful touch. The whole place was decorated for the holidays and felt really cozy and festive as well!
The real surprise was after we left. I realized I’d forgotten my to-go box, called to check on it, and even though they didn’t see it, they offered to remake my burger and fries for free. That level of kindness and service is rare! Great atmosphere, great staff, great food. We’re so glad we stopped in!

Very very disappointing. We were here on Saturday January 31st. First off they were busy, but service was slow. Sat for over an hour before apps were served. And the apps, small small servings. Cheese curds and chili cheese fries. Sizes big enough for one person. Picture above is the Japanese chicken sandwich with the $2.00 upgraded coleslaw side. Are you freaking kidding me !! I would not recommend nor will I ever return. Visit at your own risk.

Food and service was really warm and cozy!!! Everything we ordered was fresh, well seasoned and perfectly portioned. Their chili is actually so good, the meatballs were really good (honestly my only complaint about the whole meal was it would be nice to have a little bread with them, since there were two of us) and the Japanese chicken sandwich was huge!
Our server RJ was awesome, one of the coolest, down to earth people we’ve met in the service industry. He showed us that they do live shows so hopefully we’ll book one there! It’s always great to meet other artists in the local community. He said he hasn’t been bartending for that long but really he did a great job! We’ll definitely be back!

We were so happy to find this great spot in Lake Geneva! We went for dinner with our family on a Sunday night (we were in town for the week) and our kids loved it. They had great food & even had options for my son who has dairy/nut allergies. They had WikiSticks for the kids to play with which was so fun and unique! Ambrosia was our waitress and she was excellent, even our children (ages 5 & 7) said she was so wonderful! We love visiting Lake Geneva and will definitely be back to Magpies during all of our future trips up! Special shout out to Ambrosia for being the MOST AMAZING waitress!

Our initial visit to Magpie’s was amazing! From the moment we arrived, Tayla greeted us with warmth and was incredibly helpful. She had a great understanding of the menu and addressed all our questions with kindness throughout our stay. The food was not only delicious but also reasonably priced for its exceptional quality. The Northwood Pickles offered a delightful twist on traditional fried pickles that we loved. The Burrata salad provided a creative take on the classic caprese. The Pesto Margarita Pinsa was outstanding, featuring a crust that was both fluffy and crispy, plus it’s gluten-free! We were thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to return to try more.
