Himalayan Cuisine is a family-owned restaurant in La Mesa, proudly serving authentic dishes from Nepal, India, and Tibet since 2007. Known for our momos, traditional curries, and comforting flavors, we bring a rich cultural experience to every plate. Our recipes are rooted in tradition and made with care, using fresh ingredients and time-honored methods. The owners, who came to the United States over 30 years ago, opened the restaurant to share the true taste of India and Nepal with their community. That same passion and hospitality still guide everything we do today.

This is our favorite restaurant to go to. We not only love dining in but we order takeout from here a lot. The portions are so good and I am able to make two meals out of it. All the entrees come with a yummy soup and either rice or naan. Very generous portions. I always get the butter chicken and BF gets the chicken Korma. We always get the Vegetable Pakora which comes with a fresh mint sauce. Food is consistent and fresh and hits the spot always. Service always great and the inside has a nice ambience and is comfortable

My husband and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night and it was busy but we were greeted and seating pretty quickly. The employees were all very nice. They have a good size menu with different selections. We tried the Chili momo dumplings, they had a good flavor, pepper forward, and good herb seasoning. Then we tried the Mango Chicken and Chicken Korma both were 9/10 , creamy, spicy, and flavorful! The best part was the Cheese Garlic Naan 10/10 recommend! Will be back to try more items

This place teleports you to an Indiana Jones movie set on the decor alone lol Ask anyone that knows me and they’ll tell you that I’ll eat chicken but it’s not my first protein choice. The service is not slow or bad which is fine with me. We had the coconut shrimp and my kids wanted more since it was good. For main course it was lamb tikka masala and the tandoori chicken. Both were really really delicious. We got garlic cheese naan on the side that was freshly made and some of the best I’ve ever had… super cheesy in a good way. We asked for Raita (yogurt) to add to our white rice. They give you a complimentary lentil soup at the beginning of your meal. My wife & kids were sooo happy with the meal that we’re definitely coming back. I’m surprised that this place is not more busy because with $60 2 adults and 2 kids got fed!

Food was amazing! We had the chicken tikka, butter chicken, yellow and white rice, and the garlic naan. They also gave us Dahl soup as an appetizer. Everything was a 10/10! Service was also great, everyone was very nice and on top of everything. The decor and lighting gave a nice ambience to this restaurant. I’ll definitely be back! 🙂
Side note, my friend and I were talking and hanging out and didn’t even realize the time or that they were closing, and they were so kind not even rushing us out of there, but we ended up just realizing they were closing so got up anyways and cashed out. 5 ⭐️

Great food and atmosphere, but service could be better. Waiter slammed items on the table when serving, including placing them on our plates or on other things on the table which was weird. Also, we were asked to leave the restaurant at closing while we just finished eating. Good food though, would recommend ordering online at least.

We have been wanting to go to this place for a while. My son, his girlfriend, and I had a great time. All the food was delicious, and the servings were more significant than expected. We brought a lot of food home with us to eat later. They will ask you between 1 and 10 how spicy you want your meal (with one being very low and ten being very high). I picked five and will pick four the next time we go. The service was also friendly and quick.

I stopped in on a Saturday and the staff and food were wonderful. It is really good food and I walked away with left overs even after over eating. If you enjoy good Indian and want to support a local business then I would strongly recommend.
