Went there and ordered 3 medium oxtails and each order only had maybe 5 oxtails and most had only fat on them. I ordered a small stew chicken in which they gave all bone, I got plantains that look just upright undigestible. I called they told me there was no way there was bone in the stew chicken as if I’m not the one eating it and can clearly see, they agreed to a refund for the plantains but to still even serve this is wild.

The food was very, very good and the employees are very motivated to give great service. The main reason I couldn’t give 5 stars was because of its location and the fact there’s no seating. A great indicator that Jamaican food is really great is that the customers were mostly Jamaican.

I stopped by here to try the jerk chicken. I was referred by a friend. The line was out the door. The service was good. The staff was professional. The jerk chicken was cold. But the rice and veggies were warm. The chicken lacked flavor and spice and it did not taste fresh. I had to add my own hot sauce to the chicken to make it somewhat tolerable. I’m not sure if I just caught them on a bad day. However 1st impressions are lasting impressions.

I stopped by here en route to the airport, I ordered only a side of jerk chicken & I requested dark meat twice. I received a mix of both. I don’t like the dry thick white meat reason I requested dark. I also ordered side of plantains they were old & very dry. Jerk chicken had a decent taste but not spicy at all. I like spicy, but they do pile the chicken up. They do practice social distancing & must be masked. It was quite busy. Decent service. Will probably not return here next time in town.

This is a must try take out only place.
I ordered a medium sized curried goat with rice & beans and steamed cabbage & carrots and it was delicious! It got fed, and filled, 2 of us.
The young guy who prepared my order was very thoughtful in putting together my food, like he was making sure he’s giving me a good portion of meat and not many bones. I feel like the staff are respectful and friendly.
Will definitely consider going back the next time we’re in Hartford, Ct.

I love love the food. All of the food is delicious and the Portion worth the money but my biggest issue with them is that every single meal is spicy. Why is chicken soup spicy? Everything is spicy please STOP Putting pepper in all your dishes.

I had stewed pork. I’ve only started eating Jamaican food this past year but have had it often. First time trying stewed pork and eating at this establishment. All I can say was that it was ok. I wasn’t wowed but I wasn’t disappointed. I asked for extra steamed veggies and little rice.

Best Jamaican restaurant in Hartford CT in my opinion. The food is always on point and they’re always busy. Always fresh food, and good service. This my go to spot for Jamaican food for sure.

If I could put a negative star below one would be more appropriate.. look what I found amongst my rice.. a rice maggot which clearly shows me they don’t rinse their rice and check it before cooking it. Highly disappointed bad enough you pay top pricing for food and end up throwing it away in disgust. This happened literally 3 days ago..
