Enjoyed our first time here. Things that were excellent and would get again: giant lobster roll with mayo and cold with warm butter on the side (both were amazing), NE clam chowder, whole belly fried clams. Would not get the clam cakes and the ones with chourico were no better. Otherwise great atmosphere and great food!
Update: Came again on a Friday early noon and still very busy in August. The giant lobster rolls are a crowd favorite and for good reason. The fries were a better option than the clam cakes. Would still highly recommend. Pro tip: go early for lobster and fried food and then hit up Amaral’s for chowder and clam cakes to go for dinner later!

Fantastic & Fabulous Shack!
We had a lunch here this summer and it was great! Better than expected. We had basically searched on the internet for one of the best places to eat lobster around the Newport area and this shack appeared on many listings.
We were not disappointed ! The food was great and so was the environment. I can not recommend this place enough ! What was also very convenient was the possibility to park. Highly recommended!

Best lobster rolls in Rhode Island. Get the roll with the lobster tossed in butter. You cannot go wrong! The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Wonderful views of the bay. Thoroughly enjoyable!

The giant lobster roll + onion ring combo was too good. One of the best lobster rolls I’ve had, cooked to perfection and flavors were on point. Clam chowder also amazing. Clean seating area and cool location. Portapotties only for restrooms but they seemed clean. Would definitely return if I’m back in the area!

This is a nice place to go if you are looking for some seafood in the area. Counter serve and self seating. Area is nice with good views of the water. It is mostly open air so bad weather might be a downside, not the restaurants fault though. They do serve alcohol. I thought my lobster roll was one of the best I have had and my girlfriend really liked her fried clams.

First time here and SO glad we came. Had read about Blount’s while planning our trip to N.E. and was really looking forward to it. Not disappointed like I was with the place in Guilford, CT. Ordered the 1/2 pound lobster roll without the bun. I liked receiving the token for purchasing the half pounder. Great idea for the incentive program to reward your customers for their ongoing patronage. If I wasn’t from out of state, I would definitely eat here regularly. The lobster roll was beautifully presented on a piece of lettuce and tasted delicious. They included a generous portion of French fries with the roll. Also ordered a cup of each of the three clam chowders and all were very good. I asked for a taste sample of the Manhattan and Rhode Island styles because I wasn’t sure if I’d like them, but they don’t give samples. I decided to take my chances and glad I did. They actually messed up our order but made it right and that is why I am giving 5 stars for service. In addition, food came out hot and in a timely manner. Beautiful view of the harbor and also had plenty of seating with plastic to shield the wind if it got too breezy. Really like the history markers on location as well. One suggestion: How about providing a hand washing station for folks to wash before eating? Otherwise, well done Blount’s!

Was told this was the place to get seafood so had to go get the lobstah rolls. Was totally worth it. My mom got the fisherman’s trio, daughter the chicken strips, and wife a smash burger. So options if you don’t want seafood. Everything was great. To top it off, had dinner on the water with live music in the background. Stopped by the market after to buy lobster bisque to go.

The chowder and clam cakes were really good, but the rest of the order was not worth the 30 min wait in the line. Ambience was lovely.

I really like this place. I have been here many times when I happen to be in Rhode Island in the summer and it’s really cool. The food is great, the folks running the place are really nice and the view is beautiful. I was actually there last summer and meant to leave a review then but forgot until now in case Y’all are confused why I’m leaving a review while you’re closed for the season. But yeah this place Rocks I really recommend it. Especially the fried whole belly clams.

Loved the venue. Right in the water front service in the express was fast. Has clam cakes and the were not over fried. Nice and crispy golden brown huge clam chunks in them. Great seating and plenty of room for large parties. Great selection of seafood dishes. Definitely a stop if you want seafood.
