We were a group of 24 for lunch with one server who did her best and was super great. Would have all received our meal with two servers for a group that size. Some were almost finished eating whilst some were still waiting for their food. Food was delicious!

We only stopped in for dessert on a Saturday evening, but we will definitely go back for breakfast and dinner some time soon. Our server was very friendly and engaging. He said he was new, but he did great! The atmosphere was cute, they had a train that went around the dining room along the ceiling. The place was clean and spacious. They had both tables and booths for seating options. Our dessert was very tasty. Saw a sign that they have a breakfast buffet on the weekends! They also have the option to pre-order desserts for pickup which is great around the holidays, or anytime really. They had so many options for those desserts. From pies, cakes and cookies, to pastries, brownies and fudge!

This restaurant is insanely good. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles, which we always get when we’re out but THESE chicken and waffles were genuinely the best yet. They have a deal on Monday where a burger and fries is 7.99 and it was amazing. And their coconut cream pie New fav restaurant!!

This diner style restaurant and bakery is just right. Its not over priced, or another bland chain restaurant- they actually make a good number of items in house, and it shows.
Firstly, the service is really good. Our server was really friendly and professional. She knew the menu inside and out. Everything she recommended was really good.
Lobster bisque is creamy with a good amount of lobster. The maple fried cheese curds were a nice surprise, we have never had them prepared this way before and they were savory with a bit of sweet maple syrup drizzled on top. Very good.
Xhicken and waffles were a big portion with perfectly cooked waffles. The clam chowder was good too.
The desserts that we chose were all made in their bakery, and were so good. Bread pudding served jere is very, very good.
They have a cute train that runs around the perimeter of the room, offer multiple good value specials including all you can eat buffets through the week.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Governor’s Restaurant & Bakery in Lewiston! From start to finish, the service and atmosphere made our visit memorable—especially for our 3-year-old son.
Kristina, our server, was outstanding—super friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She went above and beyond by letting our son turn the model train off and back on, which totally made his day (and ours too). Moments like that really stick with you!
We also want to give a big shoutout to Patrick, who took the time to show Noah their awesome fish tank and chat with him. It’s rare to find staff who are not only professional but also take such a personal interest in creating a great experience for kids.
Now onto the food—the beet salad was phenomenal (fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented), and my wife had the chicken stew, which she said was comfort food at its finest. We couldn’t resist grabbing a slice of pie since it was on special—let’s just say we didn’t leave a crumb behind.
If you’re ever in the Richmond area, we’d love to return the favor! Stop by Morning Moose Coffee and try our handcrafted drinks and fresh mini donuts—we love meeting fellow food lovers and locals.

In my 1974 memory, Governor’s in Stillwater, Me.was the best with its fresh pies….Age changed most of my by diet; however, I’m still hooked on their Friday night fish dinner special. The Lewiston restaurant continues the reputation of reasonable price and great portions of Fish with two side dishes and fresh (warm) dinner rolls. If you like Cole Slaw, try theirs which I thought great. The attached picture reflects my wife’s fresh fish sandwich, if dinner did not fill your stomach, don’t pass-up the fresh pies, cakes, and cookies. If too full, you can take home desert, whoopies anyone?

So good to eat at govenors. Brings back fond childhood memories and classic home foods. I love their options and the selection of dessert is amazing. The train is always a hit with the kids. I only wish they’d still had more locations so we could go more frequently.
