It all began on January 27, 1958. With $50 in the cash register, Del and Helen Johnson opened “Sizzler Family Steak House” in in Culver City, California. This was the place where everyone could enjoy a great steak dinner at an affordable price. Today, we strive to serve the best hand-cut steaks at the most affordable price for the whole family with the addition of a broad, all-American menu and an abundance of fresh and healthy options. Sizzler is the restaurant where America comes to satisfy its appetite with U.S.D.A. Choice steaks cut fresh daily and cooked over an open flame, fresh seafood, and premium craft soup and salads prepared fresh daily.

Very chill and comfortable atmosphere, awesome service with polite and caring servers, salad bar had many variety of foods. Salad was good and soups were tasty and warming. Loved the unlimited soft serve offered. Overall, loved my experience there, very warming and loving.

I was sad when Sweet Tomatoes closed down. Excited to find their salad bar has good selection of for salads, soup (my favorite is creamy clam chowder with potato cube), tacos, fried chicken. My kids usually order a main entre and then add on the salad bar. Staff are friendly, sometime they are busy and the plates/bowls doesn’t get cleared right away. Overall, we’re happy to have found this location!

Today I came to this Sizzler, ordered a salad bar. The cashier didn’t hand me a plate, fork or cup. When I asked for them he says, “I’m not a server,” then points to the busboy area so I can get a plate for myself. The dining area is filthy and I dont see anyone working and there is only one table with 2 people at it, besides that the restaurant is empty, but I could hear voices from the back. I bus myself and have to ask for a cup and silverware because they arent by the plates. I get my salad and sit down to eat, after 10 mins a sever finally emerges and asks me if I want bread, I give a thumbs up because theres food in my mouth. 5 mins later, she finally arrives with bread, glances at my empty cup and doesnt ask what I want to drink. At that point I finish the bread and leave because I dont feel like asking for more silverware or going to the busboy area to get another plate. The waitress and 4 busboys were cleaning the messy dining room when I left. I come to this location often, but today was unacceptable.

This Sizzler is a great place to eat and the buffet is just awesome. The restaurant has sandwiches, steak and chicken platters as well but I always go with the salad bar since there is soooo much to chose from at the salad bar. They also have awesome desserts too!! You won’t be disappointed if you come here for lunch or dinner! Give it a try for sure!!

This restaurant has been around since I was little and always came here with my family. Today I came here after many many years. I will say the food portion has changed drastically as you don’t receive as much as in the past. The prices are much higher as well. The food itself was pretty good not great but good. The steak I had was cooked perfectly which I do appreciate. The salad bar I did enjoy alot as I do like making my own salad. The service was wonderful and friendly which is always a plus. And can’t go wrong with the ice cream bar love that’s always included.

Last time I will ever visit a Sizzlers. The lady filling the salad containers touched the lettuce with bare hands. Gloves 101 ceases to exist in CA. 1 hr later I have explosive diarrhea. Sizzlers has gone from 1980s classy to 2020s trashy.

I love the service every time we go. The waitresses are super awesome and make us feel very welcome. Was able to take my whole family to dinner and fed nine people very well for under $300. After one good trip with the family, we are totally addicted to sizzlers. The service definitely makes it well worth it as well and I really appreciate all the staff there!!

I was told the San Jose Sizzler Rocks like there’s no tomorrow! So, when my old pal Stinky Wedemeyer moved just two blocks away from the Sizzler, and needed help moving his big freezer ..I was all in, providing he spot for dinner! Well, it was an all day job moving his walk-in freezer, because we had to take the garage door off to get it in! But…It was worth it, because the filet mignon and everything else was Amazing! Cooked perfectly, and as tender as your first girlfriend!
