Great food! I highly recommend the clam chowder—it was absolutely delicious. The lobster and shrimp carbonara was also amazing, with perfectly balanced flavors. The service was okay, but it could definitely be better. Overall, I still recommend this restaurant.

We had 7:30 reservations and didn’t get seated until 8pm. Didn’t get our food until 9pm. I ordered the cedar plank salmon dish. My salmon was the only thing hot on the plate and it lacked in the flavor department. The potatoes looked old and didn’t taste like much. The green beans tasted like they were cooked in old butter. The best thing about the entire experience was the bread. Our waiter was a nice guy and did his best. I’ve gone to the location in Rochester a handful of times and assumed that the Royal Oak location would be bomb too. I wouldn’t recommend anyone I care about to waste their time like I did.

Great atmosphere with a nice serving staff. Overall a very clean environment. Food tasted really good to, the quality was on point and everything was quite fresh. Only reason I docked a star is because the food portions, that was a bit too small for an entree.
Ordered the following:
Maryland chicken
Salt and pepper shrimp
Sea perch fillet
House crab cakes

We went here for dinner (had a reservation) to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary. Our server was Vince and he was very good. He was very attentive and very polite. We never felt rushed during our meal. The food was delicious. They give bread out and can ask for more. Had the Butternut Squash Bisque and it was amazing! For dinner had the Shrimp Scallop Bake and Crispy Fall Flounder. I liked them both, I would say I liked the shrimp scallop bake the best as it has a little garlic taste. I liked how you could pick 2 entrees in the one section of menu or double up on one. We also brought a cake and had no issues with that, they offered to bring plates and forks out. Overall, great service, food and atmosphere. Slightly loud, but we were in back booth and it wasn’t bad, still able to have conversations.

Kruse & Muer is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots—I’ve been three times since Thanksgiving, and honestly, I’m not mad about it. This time, I decided to dine in and get the full experience. Even on a busy Friday night, we were seated pretty quickly. The dim lighting and cozy seating gave the place a warm, tucked-away vibe that I really enjoyed.
Of course, the meal kicked off with their signature herb bread and butter. And let me tell you—the bread is everything. Crispy on the outside, packed with flavor, and dangerously easy to keep eating.
For an appetizer, I went with the crab cakes. The flavor was good, but the inside was a little too soft for my taste.
Drink-wise, I had a lemon drop, which was perfectly balanced, and a seasonal cocktail that was also solid. For my main dish, I ordered the lobster and shrimp fettuccine. It was…okay. I’d give it a 6.5/10. The sauce was flavorful, but the noodles seemed overcooked and a little dry.
We also tried the jerk chicken pizza. Normally, BBQ sauce on pizza isn’t my thing, but this one was surprisingly good. The sauce was sweet and tangy, and while it wasn’t my order, I’d rate it an 8/10. But the real winner was the crust—this place knows how to do bread, hands down.
My all-time favorites here, though, are the Seafood Panroast and Charley’s Chowder. If you go, definitely give those a try—they’re what keep me coming back.
And let’s talk about the price. Appetizers, drinks, entrées, and tip came to under $200 for two people, which honestly isn’t bad for the quality and experience.
If you haven’t been to Kruse & Muer yet, I’d definitely recommend checking it out. And whatever you do, don’t skip the bread!

Had dinner at Kruse & Muer, not our first visit. Food is delicious each time. I had Charley’s Chowder and Panroast. My husband had the perch dinner and jumbo shrimp for an appetizer. My son had calamari and lobster and shrimp macaroni. Kruse & Muer never disappoints.

I took my wife and I out for dinner this evening and was meet with fantastic service from our waiter Jon. He was absolutely fantastic and we appreciated his service. If you are out and about buying presents and get hungry stop by and see Jon. The food was impeccable. The steak I had and the fish my wife had were both very very good. As well as the drinks from the bar. And trust coming from a bartender myself they were very good.
