Smacnally’s — dockside drinks, local seafood, and front-row seats to the Ocracoke hustle. We’ve been serving up fresh local catch, solid burgers, and cold beer since 1999 — right on the Anchorage Dock overlooking the harbor. Pull up a stool, watch the charters roll in, and let the island do its thing. We’re all outdoors — plenty of shade, plenty of breeze, and no bad views. Open daily at 11:00 AM in season (weather willing). If the skies turn on us, we’ll be back as soon as they clear. Coming from the South Dock? We’re the first place on the right when you roll off the ferry. Stop in — you’ll see why no one’s in a hurry to leave.

I’ve been coming to SmacNally’s for years back when I used to live in Ocracoke for the summer, this was always my go-to lunch spot. The best part? Nothing has changed the food is just as amazing now as it was then. The service is always friendly, and those burgers and fries are still 10/10, my absolute favorite meal here.
There can be a little bit of a wait, but that’s only because everyone wants a piece of SmacNally’s (and trust me, it’s worth it). On this visit, we grabbed some calamari to start so good! We also ordered mimosas, which were decent, though I wish they were a bit better. But honestly, once those burgers and fries hit the table, I couldn’t stop smiling.
If you’re in Ocracoke, this spot is a must. Consistent, delicious, and never disappointing.

The food was delicious – we had the oyster platter and fresh catch sandwich. The staff were courteous. The atmosphere is awesome – outdoor seating by the water. We will definitely be back!

My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich and I had the catch of the day flounder. We had a great table right at the marina. Really good food and drinks and a great location right on the harbor. Highly recommend. Friendly quick service even with all seating taken.

Awesome waterfront restaurant! Many locals and tourists were there enjoying the food. Really enjoyed the fried shrimp and blackened red drum! Beers were great and my wife loved her pineapple mimosa. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the restaurant!!

We enjoyed this place very much during our trip to Ocracoke. I had the salad with fried oysters, my husband had the Smax Burger and we split an order of onion rings. Everything was good and we enjoyed sitting by the marina. The service was great. We did have to wait about 15-20 minutes for a seat.

Great view of Silver Lake Harbor, it sits right on the water. Second yr coming back always a good fresh seafood selection. Fries were amazing, definitely fresh cut! Cute outdoor only eating with great views.

Nice little diner on Ocracoke. The chicken stripe were very good with the beer batter breading. My spouses blue fish special was amazingly good. The staff was quick and attentive.

One of the best restaurants on the island. Their salads come In taco shells and are sooooo good! Homemade ranch dressing is great! On the water seating. NO Indoor seating. If you are looking for AC and indoor seating then you would need to choose somewhere else. Cool vibes here. Boats pulling up. Full bar area that you can sit and drink/eat at as well. When we were there this last time their grill was down. Everything was fried. They had great fresh fish of the day selections and it was great! Will be back!

Visited Ocracoke for the first time and chose SmacNally’s for lunch. We had a total of 8 guests, and we were seated immediately even though it seemed very busy. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and never left our drinks unfilled. My kiddos enjoyed the chicken tenders baskets which looked great. My husband chose the fried shrimp platter which was a heaping amount of food at an excellent price. I was very pleased with the tuna wrap with ginger sauce. Sounds like a crazy combination, but it was absolutely wonderful.
