The kind of restaurant you will never forget, and go early and often! We were a large and therefore challenging group, but they made us feel right at home, with kind and respectful service.
In fact, our server, Dylan, turned out to be outstanding! He was very helpful with the kids orders getting fired ASAP and let the adults have just the right amount of extra time. Dylan’s recommendations on the specials were great and we all enjoyed them – even fresh oysters for a first time for some!
Amazing. Scenic. Delicious, five star cuisine.

Sunset Pointe at Fly Creek Marina on North Section Street has one of the best sunset views in Fairhope, Alabama. Chef Pete Blohme created an adorable seafood restaurant specializing in craft cocktails on beautiful Fly Creek. My favorite meal is the Gulf Coast BBQ Shrimp with Crusty Bread, possibly with an extra side of crusty bread. I’m not sure what I like more- the shrimp or the bread dipped in the broth. It’s a toss up of equal goodness. Starting off with the Kamikaze Chicken is a great way to begin any meal. They also have tuna nachos, seafood wraps, Poke tuna, grouper, salads, sandwiches, steak, chicken, pasta, and burgers. Plus they offer an extensive beer, wine, and cocktail menu. Rumor has it the Grouper Throats are the best thing on the menu. If they still sell it, the deconstructed key lime pie in a jar is fantastic. The restaurant is decorated in coastal decor that adorns warm wood walls. The bathroom is small for a restaurant this size but always clean. When it’s not too hot outside, that’s exactly where you want to sit. With views of the marina and Mobile Bay, outdoor seating with a view is plentiful. Wait staff have always been efficient and cheerful, with personal recommendations regarding choices to make your meal memorable. There are lots of locals dining here, and families with children of all ages. They do not take reservations, so I would arrive early or before the main lunch and dinner rushes. They are open daily from 11AM to 9 PMish. In all my years, I’ve never had anything but great service and outstanding meals here, only rivaled by the fantastic sunsets.

Great Gulf Fish tacos! Would probably skip the chicken sandwich if we came again. Bloody Mary was really great but smaller than most restaurants. Great service from server Parker. Loved the atmosphere and vibe.

Excellent choice if you enjoy good food, great views and fast/friendly service! Our sunset pointe salad was really, really, good. The lemon chicken was delish and much larger than expected. Our server was fast and friendly. We move the views!

In a word…Disappointing.
Came here with my wife for a little impromptu date night. I read some of the reviews, checked out the menu, and this looked to check all boxes i was looking for, good food, good drinks, and sunset views.
Unfortunately, there are no views of the sunset at least during this time of year. Between all the stacked boats, plastic sheeting, and the angle of the sun it wasn’t visible at all.
The skirt steak was among the worst steak we’ve ever had. Charred on the outside to the point it was extremely bitter. The chimichurri sauce was made with dried herbs so it was gritty and not good at all. The couscous was bland and quite oily.
The snapper throats were fantastic! One of the saving graces of our meal. I would put these against any other restaurants for sure. Very good seasoning and crispy. Delicious!
My old fashioned was very sweet and overall not great.
My wife’s Golden Hour was really good though! Fresh and not too sweet. Very tasty.
All the glassware was very dirty. (We heard the people next to us asked for new glasses a couple times. There was lip marks, smudges, and some debris stuck on the inside of my glass.
The bartender was friendly and service overall wasn’t bad.
Overall, seems like maybe it was a bad day? The reviews seem to indicate this isn’t the norm, unfortunately I won’t be back for anytime soon.

We were there a year ago and loved it…unfortunately, this year only the location and service were good. Some of the food was terrible. The Oisteres will be good.Three of our dishes were completely over-seasoned with pepper, and the food wasn’t properly heated. The French fries were edible on the second attempt. It’s a shame…we won’t be back next year.So sad…

What a wonderful dining experience in Fairhope. The fish nachos were an unusual tasty combination of flavors. Grouper throats were fresh and seasoned perfectly. Grilled shrimp done right. Sorry I forgot her name, but our server was excellent.

We were traveling from Texas to Florida. After reading the reviews we decided to make a short detour and try Sunset Pointe. We arrived around 2pm on Sunday, July 27th. Brunch is served until 3pm so we missed the normal menu. We were a little disappointed with the Snapper Throats, grilled slaw, potatoes, and the shrimp on the shrimp and grits. The grits were good and soft. The kamikaze chicken, pomegranate mimosa, and fried bread pudding were delicious. I had a few questions about items on the menu and the server really couldn’t answer them, she tried her best and was nice but she didn’t seem knowledgeable of the menu (maybe she was new).

Beautiful View, Limited Menu Availability, and Mixed Meal Experience
Sunset Point in Fairhope offers a pleasant waterfront setting, and the view alone sets the stage for what could be a great dining experience. Unfortunately, the evening took a different turn when both my first and second entrée choices were sold out. I ended up ordering the flounder with slaw and a vegetable medley of broccoli and cauliflower. The flounder itself was overly salty and seemed heavily seasoned, which took away from the natural flavor of the fish. The vegetables were fine in concept, but neither my wife nor I cared much for the broccoli.
On the positive side, our waiter was a bright spot—jolly, friendly, and quick with responses. He handled the situation well, even though he had to apologize twice for items being out of stock. Still, it was disappointing that neither tuna nor snapper was available, especially at a seafood-focused restaurant with such a prime location.
My wife ordered the shrimp and said it was good, though again the vegetable pairing wasn’t her favorite.
Overall, the atmosphere and service were enjoyable, but the lack of menu availability and the overly salty flounder made the meal fall short of expectations. With such a great view, I’d be willing to give it another try—hopefully with more options available next time.

Great ambience, definitely recommend sitting outside. Too many delicious food options to choose from! I was very happy with the bouillabaisse. Our server Hadley was the best. She was helpful in explaining the entrees we didn’t understand as northerners. Hadley also shared all the options with each dish and the best sauce pairings.
