Went to experience Taste of Oakville and the restaurant was PACKED. It definitely took us a long time to be seated, but the entire staff was very apologetic and kind. The manager even comped us a few appetizers to apologize for the wait. Our server, Anastasia, was extremely good at her job. Very attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that my mom’s allergies were noted on every course and suggest alternatives where necessary. The manager was also very thoughtful and checked on us periodically to make sure everything was to our liking. The food was also amazing, huge portions and good drinks. I will definitely be back!

After a long day’s work, I decided to treat myself to the 25th anniversary of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at our local Cineplex. But first, I was in the mood for a good and well-deserved meal, and boy, I chose the right place! The atmosphere was lively, relaxed, and very classy. I was seated across from a relatively large group of people celebrating a birthday. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, and their server took a group shot of them.
As for me, I had a lovely time. I ordered the “Feta Cheese Sticks”, the “New York Striploin”, followed by the “Apple Pecan Medley.” I didn’t wait long at all for my dishes, and they were well worth it and well priced. Shout-out to my server, Lara. She was one of the highlights of my evening. She was pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommended this fine establishment!

Came here a few days ago to celebrate a birthday. We came earlier in the evening so the place wasn’t too busy and we made reservation ahead of time. Our server, Sophia, was phenomenal! We arrived ahead of the rest of the party and she engaged with my little one, he talked to her like his friend. Sophia took care of us for the night and accommodated our needs. For appetizers, we ordered the calamari (very tender and lightly breaded), garlic bread au gratin (crispy crust and warm melted cheese inside), crab stuffed mushroom (the size of the mushroom was really small and they noticed it and brought us a couple of extra ones), and a regular loaf of bread (warm, crispy crust and soft inside, Sophia got us an extra loaf because we didn’t want the butter on top). For entrée, we got the kids menu half rack of ribs (my kid gave it 10/10, the ribs were fall off the bone), New York Striploin (generous portion, two people shared it and still had left over. Sophia also got us an extra side of steamed veg as the original came cooked in butter), black cod gnocchi (black cod was cooked perfectly, a beautiful sear on the outside that gives it a crispy crunch and the inside was cooked just right with a smooth buttery texture, the gnocchi was soft and coated in a deep savory sauce. One note is that the sauce can feel greasy, so adding the lemon juice definitely cuts the greasiness), and shrimp and spinach risotto (savory sauce, the risotto was creamy and the shrimp was tender and juicy). We will definitely becoming back again.

Went for a “date night” with half price wines on Thursday. No reservations and good tables available at 6 pm. Our server was Kevin and he was fabulous. Gave us lots of time to review the menu and offered some ideas on items. We shared a mixed salad with Green Goddess dressing. Loved it !! My date had the sirloin with a shrimp skewer, and a massive loaded potato. Steak always done to perfection I had the SHORT RIB SEAFOOD PAPPARDELLE ! OMG it was delicious with plenty of black tiger shrimp, massive scallops in a short rib sauce with bits of rib and porcini mushrooms. The fresh pasta was scrumptious. Our wine accompaniment was an Argentine Cabernet Sauvignon that was great at that price point. Too full for dessert, as the wine doubled for dessert.

Great service, food was tasty and well presented. You didn’t feel rushed at all. Water was topped up regularly without needing to ask. Staff were really attentive but without being overbearing.

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and the food and service are always amazing. But the restaurant is really starting to look run down. Many of the table tops are literally gouged on top and the old COVID glass separators are still up. The carpet has seen better days in spots as well. The decor is really making the restaurant feel more like a diner. Not what the restaurant was intended for.

Sorry guys this just didn’t hit. We tried the Oakville dining special. Haven’t eaten here in a while and I am sorry but I don’t think I will return. Notables- ordered the French onion soup and it was bland, too cheesy and it was cold. I ordered the ribs and since this place is known for ribs I was disappointed. The ribs were dry and burnt and the real stars of the plate were the fries and coleslaw. For dessert, Creme brûlée- scrambled eggs and it was gritty. I also ordered a kids menu pasta which was underwhelming, oily and pretty small. Staff were pleasant, our waiter was attentive and understanding.

SKIP THE DISHES REVIEW:
We did not dine in but their food was so good that I had to review. We ordered the family burger bundle from Skip the Dishes and not only was it an insanely good price – unheard of at any restaurant – but it was also so delicious. Their burgers were so smoky and filling and their fries were crisp and somehow sweet! Would 100% order from here again, maybe will dine in next time. Thank you!

Update No. 2. After some time I came back.
The service and the food were good.
Even though the place wasn’t busy and there were a lot of empty tables, we were seated in one that a piece of wood in the top wasn’t there and also had some small pieces removed. This is an easy fix, however it damages the impression you can have of a place like this. Please pay attention to these details, which certainly can impact customers.
Update: Came back after long time on Saturday night. We had a reservation for 7:30pm. We did not have to wait for our table.
The waitress was very friendly and constantly asking how we were doing and if there was something else we wanted.
The food was good without being exceptional.
The prices were fair.
I went with my family on last Sunday evening for dinner.
Most of the restaurant was empty. The service and the food were good.
