Just two of us on a date night to celebrate our 41st anniversary. We had a reservation and were seated right away. While being seated, I asked for a table further from the front door. The hostess immediately took care of it. Our server, Tia was amazing from the get-go. She was welcoming, friendly, professional, and willing to give recommendations. (which is rarer than you think) We were there just in time for Happy Hour and the drinks were good. We ordered the Trio Snack to munch on with our cocktails & wine. For food, we just picked three appetizers for both of us to share, the dumplings, croquettes, and octopus salad. All three were excellent and plentiful! One additional note: the staff worked together well, refilling water, bringing food and drinks, and answering our questions. Tia even brought us Champagne for our anniversary celebration. Overall an excellent experience and we will definitely be back.

Municipal Bar was fabulous for brunch! I shared everything with a friend we got the mini bloodies and beer combo for drinks which was only $10. Then later ordered a full bloody at $16, it being a very delicious tasting Bloody Mary. The Carolina Gold Rice Porridge was a favorite for me, with currants, coconut, carrots and pistachios. The Frittata Sando with sausage was phenomenal and hit the breakfast crave. Don’t skip on the hash brown that comes as the side. Mouth watering. Can’t wait to try dinner. Very appealing atmosphere in a mid-century modern setting.

Municipal Grand Bar is an absolute gem in Savannah. The drinks are exceptional and thoughtfully crafted, with their extensive wine and whiskey selections, beautifully presented, and full of flavor without being overdone. The servers are warm, knowledgeable, and make great recommendations based on what you like. The atmosphere is classy yet relaxed, with just the right vibe for a date night, girls’ night out, or a laid-back evening with friends. Service is quick, the ambience is great, and every drink feels like a treat. Easily one of Savannah’s new best spots. Highly recommend!

I’d heard of Municipal Bar from following Death & Co. and loving their books. The day of, I made reservations since it was so close to an event I would be attending at the Trustees Theater. We came for Happy Hour on a Tuesday and stayed through dinner! The Happy Hour specials are all amazing. The Old Fashioned was delicious, as were the martinis. We tried the Hashbrown & Caviar, and wow, it’s amazing! Next, we had the fries and the oysters from PEI on the Happy Hour menu. All excellent! For dinner, we had the Croquettes, the Octopus, and the Lamb Sausage plates. All were amazing. Perfectly portioned and so good! Our server, Erin, was patient, helpful, and on point all evening!

The ambience is very cool. The ’60s vibe and decor are amazing. Such a cool place! Next, we want to stay the night in the Municipal Grand and have a night out on the town right there! I want to try all the menus!

This is a great addition to Savannah, and I was so excited to finally get to try it out. We will be back!

I have been waiting YEARS for something to happen with the old water department mid mod masterpiece. We just came in for drinks, they have a great menu and the service was good. The vibes were awesome! The decor, the music, and the staff totally made it. It felt like stepping back into the 70s (in a good way) and enjoying great cocktails with great company!

We walked into Municipal Bar right at happy hour after a long road trip from beautiful Jacksonville, Florida. We made key stops along the way at Buc-ee’s, Piggly Wiggly, and Food Lion to stock up on supplies for the journey.

We entered into a space that has been expertly converted from a municipal building into a cute trendy cocktail lounge. They kept certain key elements from the municipal building and blended it with modernistic lounge design. I was obsessed. Whoever designed this place deserves some kind of award.

We sat at the bar and ordered a couple dirty martinis ($10 at happy hour), fries ($5), oysters ($16) and garden lettuce ($12). My girlfriend soft launched me on her IG story with a picture of my hand and $14 Casio watch holding a martini glass. WE DID IT!!!!

The oysters and fries were fantastic, but the garden lettuce was a brick. We just didn’t enjoy the dressing at all, but that’s more on me for ordering that. I knew better.

The martinis were hitting different. I felt like a New York businessman in the 80s, slamming martinis after a long day of yelling at people on the phone slanging penny stocks.

I randomly came across this spot while walking and decided to stop in. Since I didn’t have a reservation I grabbed a seat at the bar and honestly I’m so glad I did. The place is super clean the staff are really friendly and everything was just perfect.

The food smelled so good my hands were literally shaking while taking pictures And huge shout out to them for splitting the steak onto two plates which made sharing so easy and thoughtful.

Definitely coming back. Such a great Saturday night dinner!

Fantastic gem right off the waterfront! Found this place just a few blocks from our hotel and WOW. Totally amazing bar and svelte lounge. Quality cocktails and a subperb downstairs wash room area. The staff was attentive and accommodating. Learned the cool history of the renovation and how the bar used to be where people paid their water bill. Simply cannot recommend this place enough.

Second visit didn’t disappoint. We had the banana daiquiri (light refreshing and too easy to drink) and we tried the fried chicken sandwich which was big enough for us to share. Or server was good and space is really cool.

Municipal Bar on Broughton Street is a fantastic new spot inside the ground floor of the brand-new Municipal Grand Hotel. The space has a stylish mid-century modern design, and it’s cool knowing the bar is located in the old municipality building where Savannah residents once paid their water bills.

We went for our 32nd anniversary, and while the small lounge-style table seating wasn’t the most comfortable for dining, everything else about the experience more than made up for it. Our server, Chase, an architecture student at SCAD, was wonderful—friendly, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable.

Drinks were excellent: I had an Old Fashioned, and my wife enjoyed a crisp Italian white. For starters, we ordered the octopus and sourdough dumplings—both were outstanding. For dinner, we shared the whole branzino, which was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. On the side, we had carrots and potatoes. The potatoes came in a heavier cream sauce—rich but tasty.

Overall, a memorable experience with upscale vibes, great service, and delicious food. Highly recommend!
