Old-school Southern Italian joint serving pizza, pasta, traditional entrees & family-style meals.

The food here is pretty average — nothing that blows your mind, but it’s fine for a casual meal. What really stands out is the atmosphere. It’s got such an old-school vibe that feels nostalgic and fun, like stepping back in time a little. Everything about the space — the decor, the layout, even the little touches — gives it a classic feel that you don’t see much anymore. The atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit, especially if you enjoy spots that feel cozy, lively, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where you go more for the experience than the food, and honestly, that’s a big part of its charm. I’d come back just to soak in the vibe and enjoy the surroundings.

I’d never patronize this business in the future.
I have honestly never eaten at a restaurant with such a nasty staff member. Our server was exceptionally rude from the moment we walked in. She had a snarl on her face when we walked in, when she gave me my menu and when my colleague asked her about my menu. It appeared that she was perpetually angry and irritated, and unfortunately, we were on the receiving end of it.
At one point, everyone at the table received a soda refill—except me. I happened to have a different type of soda and for some reason, I was completely skipped. It was noticeable, and honestly absurd, as even the rest of the table pointed it out.
As for the food, it was subpar at best. I’ve had better pasta from grocery store microwave meals.
This place missed its mark. I find it very hard to believe that this place has a 4.3 star rating; someone isn’t telling the truth.
However, I do appreciate the two ladies at the entrance that were very pleasant as we were leaving.
If I’m ever in the area again, I definitely won’t be returning.

We loved our fantastic experience at Saputo’s. Our wonderful server was Vanessa. I hope you have the pleasure of meeting her.
I asked for a salad with extra dressing and I got it! Wow! This most certainly was not a dry salad.
We enjoyed some complementary bread and butter before our entrées arrived. My wife ordered the spinach Alfredo with chicken. I had the lasagna with two meatballs on top. Vanessa suggested that I mix the meat sauce and spicy marinara. That was an unbelievably excellent combination!
There’s a reason this place has been a local favorite since 1948. It was one of the most enjoyable Italian restaurants we have ever experienced. Food and service are five stars all the way. We cannot wait to return. We do not have an Italian place this good at home, in Kansas City.

One of the best 3 restaurants in Springfield, and hands down the best Italian place! So delicious and great service.

Great place for food and drinks! The atmosphere is very mature and warm. The waitress I had was fantastic! I forgot her name, so sorry! We ordered different things from the menu, and all were great!
I ordered a tender and delicious beef fillet —you must put the garlic sauce on every bite! The bread was amazing, with toasted sesame seeds, and the butter was great. I will return and recommend it!

EXCEPTIONAL!!
Great atmosphere, food, and service!
Grabbed dinner here two nights in a row and it was delicious. I had salmon the first night and it was cooked perfectly. The second night I had the lasagna and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Get the meatball side with the lasagna. You’ll thank me for it.
Jenn was a great bartender and served everyone with a friendly smile. The place has been here since like 1948 and you’d swear it was your grandparent’s joint it’s so down to earth.

Saputo’s has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was excellent—I started with the olive salad, which was fresh and tasty, followed by the chicken parmigiana. The chicken was tender, and the marinara sauce really stood out with its rich, flavorful taste. However, the service was slower than I’d hoped, which took away from the experience a bit. If you’re not in a hurry, the great food and cozy ambiance make it worth the wait.

If I could give 0 stars I would’ve but it makes you select at-least 1 star. Ordered lobster from here for the past 15 years for my mother’s birthday, it’s what she wants so that’s what she gets! Today’s service was totally uncalled for, for starters when we got back with the dish to start our family dinner my mother started to dig in only to find that her lobster was so mushy that not even the tail was attached. She got about 2-3 bites in and couldn’t get much further because she knows the consistency for a lobster shouldn’t be anything close to what she described as mashed potatoes. So we called Saputo’s back and explained our situation and they offered us a refund/remake but they needed the lobster back to replace, which is totally understandable! We’ve been in the food industry for 20+ years and we know how certain people can be with trying to get free meals, trust me that’s not what we wanted in any way. We all just wanted to enjoy my mothers dinner with great conversation, enjoying each others company while eating great food. We told them we would take a remake and they said it would take about 30 mins for it to be ready we just needed the original lobster in order to get the remake. We showed up and the old lady took my lobster to the back kitchen (I have no idea what they could’ve done to it back there) and returned 2-3 minutes later refusing to give us a remake and said all of the lobster is going to be that mushy and also told us that we ate half the lobster! She stuck her own fingers into the lobster and told us there was nothing she could do. Terrible service, not only wasting my time that I could be spending with my mother on her birthday but also sticking her fingers in my food without gloves and expecting me to take it back to my mother and have her eat it. Unacceptable, that old lady knows nothing about customer service. If you had no intentions of refunding/remaking don’t waste peoples time cause some people’s time is valuable. She ate a potato that came with it and didn’t get an entree.

What a great dinner we had! We had baked lasagna with meatballs and baked mostaccioli with Italian sausage. It was delicious (though my husband thought the sausage was a bit bland). The salad (with house dressing) was delicious but the bread was just okay. Very reasonably priced. Our server (Zach) was one of the best servers we’ve ever had! He was personable, funny, friendly & gave us wonderful service!
