I visited Del Buono’s Bakery in Haddon Heights, NJ, and it is everything you want in a classic neighborhood bakery. From the moment you pull up, the cool, eye catching figures outside immediately grab your attention and make you want to stop in. It is such a unique and fun touch that sets the tone before you even walk through the door.
Inside, the bakery always feels warm and inviting, and that is not just the atmosphere. The warmth comes from the fresh bread coming hot out of the oven, which you can literally pick up yourself right from the conveyor belt. There is nothing better than grabbing a loaf that is still warm and smells incredible.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always happy to answer questions or recommend items. You can tell they take pride in what they do and genuinely enjoy helping customers.
On top of all that, the prices are some of the best around for bread and bakery items, especially considering the freshness and quality. Del Buono’s is the kind of place you keep coming back to, whether you need bread for dinner or just want to enjoy the experience of a true local bakery.

So much has changed since I last been here 15 or 20 years ago, but for the better. Still have the freshest bread and rolls around. I used to come with room temperature butter in my car, then put it on the hot rolls as soon as I picked them. We made it a family thing when my kids was small. Definitely worth coming back, now I will wake up and start bringing my granddaughter to enjoy what I did for her mother.
So glad this place is still around, lots of memories here.

I bought a cheesesteak stromboli and was very disappointed when I sliced it open. It’s nothing but bread and little to no meat inside. I pretty much paid $11.45 for a loaf of bread.

We always come here for the roles, they are great. Wanted to get some roast beef from the deli. Everyone behind the counter ignored us. We were looking for number tickets then noticed a kiosk at the end of the counter. When we put in our order the price was 3 dollars higher than what the roast beef was listed in the cabinet. We finally flagged down one of the women, she proceeded to go on a rant that those prices are always wrong, can’t trust them, need to go by the computer. She proceeded to say it wasn’t her problem and used an expletive to say it’s the owners problem. We canceled the order, not because of the price, more because of her terrible attitude and service. We will probably be back for roles but that’s it. As for the two cashiers at the other counter. They were great, pleasant and helpful. I hope the owner reviews his staff at the deli. Very poor.

Pretty good spot, we enjoyed it. The Bagel I got with cream cheese I wouldn’t really call a bagel, it was more like a regular roll of bread, taste was good though. The hoagie was good as well. The cheesesteak I would have to say that the flavor is a bit off. I guess the way it’s seasoned, not really my thing. Overall this spot is good & I love that they make their own bread fresh. Staff is friendly.
