What happened to this place is an absolute tragedy – my husband and I had been regularly stopping at this place for 10+ years on our way through – I’ve always known Pete’s Saloon as a cozy, local tavern with one of the best Cheeseburgers and mozzarella sticks in the area. We hadn’t been here in quite some time – my guess is ownership changed – and the place was completely transformed. Gone were the warm yellow ceilings and the exposed wooden beams, only to be replaced with black and gray paint. The warm and rustic decor was replaced with dozens of TVs instead. I could have overlooked this negative change, but the real disappointment was the food – The legendary homemade mozzarella sticks (still found on photos from older reviews) were replaced with a disgusting product that is CLEARLY mass-produced, over-breaded and frozen (despite their menu still claiming they’re “homemade”), the cheesesteak with “prime rib” was completely inedible and the horseradish sauce had gone sour. I’m sad that a place that used to be a cozy neighborhood bar with outstanding down-to-earth food was turned into an unwelcoming and sterile sports bar with frozen convenience food. Will never return.

Pete’s has that familiar local vibe — lively bar scene, friendly staff, and food that hits right where you want it to.
Southern Sizzling Shrimp:
Jumbo shrimp came out sizzling hot and cooked perfectly. The Cajun butter sauce was rich and flavorful, with a nice pop from the corn and pico. Only thing missing? A piece of bread to soak up all that buttery goodness. Would turn a great appetizer into an outstanding one.
Blackened Chicken Panini:
Juicy chicken, fresh mutz, and the slight bitterness of broccoli rabe made for a great combo. The pesto mayo added a nice kick and tied everything together. Nicely toasted and well balanced — could use just a pinch more spice.
Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich:
Crispy, spicy, and messy in the best way. The cheese sauce and slaw gave it good texture and flavor contrast, and the brioche bun held strong. Heat level hit the sweet spot — noticeable but not overkill.
Service was quick and friendly even with a full house, and prices were fair for the quality.
Overall: Pete’s nails the comfort-food-meets-bar-grub vibe. Great flavors, lively atmosphere, and a few thoughtful tweaks (like a hunk of bread with that shrimp) would make it a five-star stop.

First time here during a vacation in Sleepy Hollow! We came on a Wednesday and were surprised to discover it was trivia night! Highly recommend going on trivia night – it was so much fun(even if you’re good at trivia or not)! The food was delicious and the staff were really kind as well.

Found Pete’s through a Google search. So I stopped for a light bite. Nice menu, not just typical “pub grub”. The bartender was very friendly, attentive and quick with her service. I had wings and a Caesar salad. Both were delicious, but the salad was huge! If you’re rating Pete’s itself, five stars. But parking was a challenge, not the bar’s fault, as the town was just getting around to clearing snow from a storm earlier in the week. If you’re in the area, Pete’s Saloon is recommended.

Food was good and decent variety of dishes and sandwiches.

Best onion rings in the Hudson Valley! I’ve eaten here several times now and the food is outstanding. Come hungry because all portions are big. They don’t just pile it on though. Every plate comes out very well presented. The lamb burger is my favorite but those fish tacos are a close second.

Our server was such a delight, he made the whole experience amazing. The food was delicious, the burger was just perfect. The onion rings were great too. The salad dressing was excellent, I think it was either cilantro or mint. I would buy it if they sold it separately. Perfect spot if you are in the mood for burgers and fries

Stopped in Yesterday for a late lunch during happy hour. We were pleasantly surprised as I have never been here before. Looking for a good burger and a beer after a hard day of work. They delivered! The Lagunitas IPA was cold, fresh and delicious. Had the Birria Grilled cheese sandwich off the happy hour menu and it was delicious. Parking was easy even though it’s on busy main street, as we parked across the street in their free lot. Definitely will be back. The service was very good also and our waitresses were super friendly.
