What a wonderful restaurant! Fantastic Indian cuisine with excellent curries and masala’s. We enjoyed their very moist and tender tandoori chicken, stuffed lamb bread and saag paneer. We’re originally from the Silicon Valley in California where there’s a large population of Indian food and authentic Indian restaurants. Taj Majal rivals the best of those back there! I highly recommend them!

Taj Mahal Escazu is the best Indian restaurant in Costa Rica by many a mile. I have been to this restaurant many times in my 7 years of living here in Costa Rica. Every time I have been there, it’s been the same great food, excellent service and atmosphere.
This is the first time I’m writing a review about this restaurant Not sure why I haven’t done all these years.
This is my top most rated restaurant. Today especially the service provided by Suraj and Bharath was nothing short of an excellent service. Suraj was especially very welcoming and the way he took care of us was great. All the dishes we ordered were very well prepared by Chef Bhavani. It exceeded all our expectations. Perfect spice level and an excellent presentation.
If you are in San jose, Taj Mahal Escazu is highly highly recommended!!

Wow!!! So gorgeous! And ultra delicious!! It’s definitely a place to visit! They even have a beautiful peacock in the yard out back! And the coconut cardamom lassi was next level!!

The outside appearance almost turned us away, but so glad we persevered. Only the adventurous will enter the first time, but their bravery is richly rewarded! Elegantly decorated and the peacocks added an unexpected joy to the environment. Once the food arrived, it consumed our attention as we delighted in each flavorful bite.

I visited Taj Palace twice while i was in San Jose. The staff here are super friendly and explained the menu to me and my family in great detail. What really stood out about this place is the ambience. They have peacocks roaming around the property which made my kids v happy. it’s a very open and airy feeling. They have a very good wine list and I got some Indian beer. service was pretty quick and the price was reasonable. I would go here again any day. ! You can also get Food from here via Uber eats.

Authentic Indian food. Ambience was beautiful and serene. Peacocks roam around in the yard. Peacock calls are loud so if you are seated downstairs closer to he yard just don’t get alarmed. Staff was very friendly. Food was delicious. Chai was fantastic!!. Butter chicken didn’t feel tender. (Maybe it wasn’t halal meat)
Vegetarian item was good.
