Since it’s a Michelin-recommended spot, I went with high expectations. The overall service was pretty nice, but the dishes were generally on the salty side. Considering the price, the value for money was quite good with four courses per person. However, there was a time limit of 90 minutes for the meal, which made the dining experience feel a bit rushed. Additionally, the indoor space was quite cramped, with tables so close together that we were practically sitting right next to the neighboring table. The atmosphere felt rather restrictive.

Overall the dining experience was pleasant and the food delicious. The service overall was top notch, except for the one server who took our order. He had an unpleasant demeanor as if he didn’t want to be there. He was curt and didn’t offer the little extras like sweetener with my tea. He seemed annoyed when I asked for my steak medium well and said they could only do either medium rare or well done. I picked well done which led the the steak to have a chewy and bitter unpleasant flavor (everything else was really great). It only takes the one server to taint the experience. The place is a bit cramped and the automatic 20% gratuity and 6% mandatory healthcare fee and regular taxes puts you at about 37% of what the meal costs. The prix fix idea is wonderful and it seems like a good deal, but not after the almost 40% in extras. They did give me a special birthday note which was a nice touch.

Had a wonderful evening at Trestle celebrating my girlfriends birthday. We really liked the intimate interior and ambiance of the place. The service was exceptional throughout the night, including some thoughtful touches to mark the occasion.

We ordered one of each option for all four courses and were impressed. The Red Wine Risotto with braised beef and Roasted Sunchoke soup were definitely favorites. The Cacio e Pepe Spaghetti was solid but nothing special.

We were surprisingly full going into the third and fourth courses so although they offer complimentary bread, consume it with caution. Note that there is an automatic 20% service charge.

My new favorite affordable tasting menu in sf! Food and service on par with a one Michelin star restaurant, at a much lower price tag.

TLDR; amazing food and presentation, check the daily menu, reserve early, cozy and intimate, outstanding service!

I really enjoyed my experience here! And not to mention that the service was truly exceptional. If you are looking for an intimate, cozy vibe with high quality food and service. Look no further!

With 4-courses you might not think it’s enough but I’ll let you know that by the time I reached the end of the second course, I was getting full! Granted, I probably eat less than the normal adult, but by no means was the amount little.

I won’t comment on the specific courses because the courses vary every week based on seasonality. Just know that everything was delicious, flavourful and leaves you with a satisfying feeling. The only course that left me a little disappointed and wanting more was the dessert! It really didn’t have the pizzaz that the other courses did.

If I lived in the area, I would be checking the menu weekly to see if there was something different I wanted and go there for a new food experience every time.

The food presentation and quality are amazing for the price you pay! Having two options for each course is also quite wonderful. If you come as a team of two, ordering both dishes for each course and sharing is a great idea! You get to taste everything and miss out on nothing.

I was a last minute reservation but they managed to squeeze me in and they were flexible! I was only a table of one, so that may have made it a little easier.

My family came here for a birthday, and we were more than satisfied with the food and service. The four course prix fixe menu was set at a reasonable price, and the flavors for each dish were superb. Definitely looking forward to coming back once their menu updates for the next season!

For if it’s dubbed on the summer tomato menu. Between the four, we sampled every dish. It was an error to order the bread — while it was good, we felt overfull by the end of the meal.

The weakest dish was the pannacotta. Two of us had it, but one was very tomatoey and the other not so. It was better with much less tomato.

Not cheap, we spent $340, but we did have a drink each. Also, I’m used to prices in the Boston suburbs.

We arrived (by mistake) an hour before our reservation, so we had a drink at a local bar and had to leave just as the live music started.

I like this place! We enjoyed almost every dish. The salad is a bit underwhelming, but everything else is amazing! If you are going with your date, then you can share and eat everything. I particularly like the pasta dishes. Another great thing about eating here is that you don’t have to choose much and the price is set so you won’t go over budget. The seatings are a bit crowded but it has a romantic and classy vibe. It is good to make a reservation beforehand. The menu also changes over time so you can try something new. I would like to try other dishes next time!
