Just a simple, local burger joint with affordable prices. There is no need to go to a drive thru if you are passing by What-A-Burger. Support local and small businesses!

Enjoyed lunch here. Had a good time with family. Came during the quiet time so there was plenty of seating and not a long wait. The food was delicious for sure. Only complaint I have is that my marinara sauce for my mozzarella sticks was ice cold and had a sour taste, but I’m still giving 5 stars because things happen.

It doesn’t look like much on the outside or in the basket but let me tell you it has a whole lot of goodness on the inside. This is what the Five Guys and Fosters Grill is trying to achieve but they don’t come close. This is the real deal. The burgers are the best and the fries are great. It comes out pretty fast even when they are busy. There are plenty of seats on the inside with restrooms but you can also take it outside or just take it to go.

I ordered a burger with fries and a sweet tea, and everything was great. The burger especially was really good and cooked just right. I’ll definitely be back and plan to try some of the other items on the menu next time.

I’ve been living in and around Columbia for about 15 years, and I ate at What-a-Burger recently for the first time. I have to say, it did not disappoint! The burgers, in particular, rival anything I’ve had in or around the city. The condiments (lettuce, tomato) are fresh and not too wet, the bun pleasantly soft, and the patty immaculate. I also got a catfish basket which was quite good and very generously apportioned. Two burger baskets (burgers, fries and drinks) plus a catfish basket (catfish and fries, no drink) only cost about $23.
The service was very polite – a little slow, but that’s what you get when everything is clearly made to order.
The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is that they use crinkle-cut fries, which aren’t my favorite, but even then they were well cooked without the soggy or cold middles you occasionally see. Four stars, Ellis says check it out!

I came in on Friday afternoon November 7th to order food.It took the cashier five times with my order and it still wasn’t right. They gave me money back and still my wife’s order wasn’t right. They weren’t very friendly and they hurt my feelings I shouldn’t have to go over the order constantly like I did. When I got home my wife’s order was still wrong. They still put coleslaw on her burger. They seemed very disorganized and unprofessional. I will not be back.If I could rate zero stars ,I would. The old days at What A Burger are surely missed. These people need proper training.Your very disappointed customer.

This little tiny plot of land may not mean a thing to you. But this is one of my fondest memories of growing up as a young child. See that nice window to the right? Well, that was once an opening in that wall where the most wonderful aromas and plumes of smoke would billow out at night. And that plot of grass? That was lined with rickety wooden picnic tables, stained by decades of grease, ketchup, mayo and lots of dried chewing gum underneath. Pop would stand in line while Mom and I would grab a table. Then Pop would bring over the tray of wax paper wrapped deliciousness known as a What-A-Burger. 70 years later, the food still tastes the same. Still wrapped in wax paper. I visted there today. I remembered a little bit of my childhood. The food was great. Life is good. You friends have a great weekend. Mine already is.

I enjoyed my bacon cheeseburger combo. The fries were hot and the burger was tasty. Nice little hamburger joint.

I tried the chicken cheese steak. It was okay, but not top-notch. The sandwich was warm, but a better quality bread would be a good way to improve the overall attitude I have about it. I did take note of the “A” rating on the store front.
