Came here for the first time after hearing mixed reviews about it for many years. Our waitress, Jennifer, was kind and attentive, and the place had the classic wisco supper club vibes (iykyk). We enjoyed the German relish-platter-esque offerings, and my husband’s beef stroganoff with spaetzle was very good – but not $30 for the plate good. I ordered the smallest cut of the prime rib and asked for it to be prepared the way the chef recommended. I’ll admit, I don’t eat prime rib often, but I didn’t think it was supposed to be almost cold when it’s served, and it was deeply underseasoned and on the fatty side. My husband, who is the more knowledgeable of the two of us in terms of prime rib, agreed with me that it was not a good piece.
We are not price-averse customers, but I think if you’re going to spend potentially $80+ a person with alcohol, the food’s quality shouldn’t even be able to be questioned. Although the staff were all lovely, and there were good aspects to our dinner, the quality of my $50 prime rib combined with small things like a poor house old fashioned and getting seated at a tiny table directly next to the bar window (just think about glasses loudly clinking every time you try to talk to you dinner mate) when we made a reservation, was just enough to make us feel like we probably wouldn’t return. I can spend the same amount of money at Wine Knot or Butcher and Barrel and will never be disappointed in anything I order there. I would say try it if you’re wanting a specific German dish, but don’t order the prime rib.

House of Gerhard surpasses every restaurant in America ! They made our wedding anniversary so special !❤️The dinner was five stars and equivalent to the schnitzel in Austria The starters and french onion soup is another level . The food , ambience and service is simply par excellence! The restaurant was decorated so beautifully ! They even brought us a special strawberry desert for our anniversary. We love house of Gerhard . Their schnitzel was incredible! Thank you so much house of Gerhard!

Delicious “snackies” included with dinner (liver pate, little garlic toast/crackers, bread & butter, coleslaw). The pot roast was excellent. Lookout for the Brandy Alexander dessert, it was huge!

Fun atmosphere, excellent service. A couple in our group ordered the prime rib and came out tough, disappointing. Streak, duck and chicken was great, beef stroganoff was excellent. The walleye special was very good. Old fashions were outstanding

I sat at the bar. Ordered a coke and it was horrible. Bartender made me another and used a different gun and it was ok. The beginning of my dinner was good. The liver pate, garlic toast, bread, soup, and beets was good. Then my German sampler special came. It was horrible. It came out luke warm. The beef was so dry and old I did not eat it. The gravy was super dark compared to normal or any of the pictures I see of other plates on the site. It was so damn salty that it ruined my experience beyond words. “BS”. I should have sent it all back after the first bite but I suffered though it as I had to be at a appointment. Bartender Kyle was great unless he let my food sit for 20 mins before getting it to me. Who knows? He seemed to be on point. Might try again but I feel I be gambling with my money.

This is the second time my husband and myself have gone to House of Gerhard. It feels like entering a different place and time, one that reminds me of my childhood in the best way. The food is amazing, as is the service. It is always such a special treat for us!

If you’re in Kenosha and hungry, House of Gerhard is where you need to be. The service is top-tier fast and friendly, and they keep the beer coming without you even having to ask.
Now, let’s talk food. The Sauerbraten? Absolute perfection; tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The brats and wurst were spot on, with plenty of sauerkraut on the side.
The Hofbrau was cold, crisp, and hit the spot, and their bar’s got some awesome beer steins that give the place some real character.
Pro tip: Make a reservation. This place gets packed, and for good reason. Great food, great service, and a laid-back vibe. I’ll definitely be back, Prost

Our first visit will NOT be our last. It’s a relatively small place, but they have a huge variety on the menu. So much looked so good, it was hard to decide. Beth was patient with our questions and fantastic with service. Drinks, soup and meal were excellent. Large portions so we had great leftovers the next day. Highly recommended and we will definitely be visiting again soon.
