At our Independence, MO location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Captain D’s is a cool fish and chip place. The staff are friendly and hardworking and the food is good. I got take-out but the dining area is cool and I’ll probably eat in next time.

Great hangout spot. Open till midnight on weekdays and 2am on weekends. Food is cheap, portions are filling, and it’s actually really good. Staff is friendly and orders come out quick. The horchata here is amazing. Grab some tacos or carne asada, maybe a margarita or beer, and you’re set.

Used instacart for this order. I can blame the delivery driver for taking 2 hours for delivery. But even with that I had to heat my oven up to reheat the ice cold food. Heating up fish in this case should not be an issue. Sure bits not as good as fresh but this fish was absolutely rotten. I could only take 1 bite and had to spit it out. I’ve had captain Ds all of my life and have never had something so foul. Did not even try the rest of my order. Total waste as I could not get any type of refund through instacart. My advice is steer clear of this location and never try and do a delivery order.

I Happened to drive by I’ve never been here before. I walked in noticed how clean it was. I Walked up to the counter & the cooks all said welcome, the guy at the register said welcome & was very nice. He Told me where all the condiments were etc. I sat down & the food came right out hot. The guy even delivered it. Told me Merry Christmas and thanks for coming. I was very impressed. While sitting here eating. He made it a point to come out and take some senior folks tray and trash away for them. Great job.

I came to this establishment with my husband 1 night ago through the drive-through we got home which was about a couple of minutes down the road and they served us molded fish!?!?!! They were closing and when we got back nobody was there!! We got the $5.99 two piece fish deal and the other $5.99 mixed fish deal, and my husband was sick all night into this morning!! Their phone does not work so don’t even try to call them and I messaged them directly on their website and they NEVER reached back out to me. They really don’t care about the food they serve or if you get sick.

The food is always great! It always takes more than 30 min sitting in the drive through, there is no fast, to this fast food restaurant. However, they always take care of you, so, make sure you have at least a quarter of gas and something on your phone to keep you occupied

I absolutely love this location. I’ve been coming here for 5 years and my order has not been wrong once. The food is always fresh and delicious, the restaurant itself is always clean and stocked. The owner and employees are so incredibly friendly! They always play beautiful uplifting Christian music, Best Captain D’s in the city!

We’ve going here for at least a year. Food is delicious fish or chicken. Spices are perfect and gumbo is close to real thing. Been to Church’s and Popeyes and no comparison.
