We’ve had the pleasure of eating at some excellent restaurants during our stay in Maui. When you get to restaurants like Honu Oceanside you’re enjoying the top, best of the best on the island. The overall experience from atmosphere, service and food are excellent. Drinks are delicious. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail which had 3 large fresh shrimps. . Our main meals were the mahi mahi , incredibly delicious. Also enjoyed the adult crab Mac n cheese which was unreal. Delicious, excellent fantastic! For dessert we enjoyed the butterscotch creme brûlée which was unique and absolutely yummy! Cappuccino, was done perfectly one of the best I’ve had! Honu Oceanside is a MUST visit on your Maui stay, it won’t disappoint!!!

We happened upon this delightful restaurant. We didn’t have reservations but @5:30 we were able to get in & get a beautiful view. The hostesses were very nice & sat us right away. We had a great server as well, lovely lady whose name I forgot. But the food was so great. So many different flavors combined in unique ways. The cocktails were great as well. Very lovely spot right on the water!

My family and I have been living on Maui for 22+ years and we dined here for my sister’s birthday because in our opinion (some may say this is blasphemy but…) Honu blows Mama’s Fish House out of the water.
We ordered the ahi poke, ahi bruschetta, oyster shooters, truffle fries, grilled octopus, Mahi Mahi dore style, the special (baby ulu fish with a mushroom risotto), the scallops, the butterscotch pot de crème, and lilikoi cheesecake (and a chocolate mouse came out for a special birthday dessert). Everything was SPECTACULAR – fresh, vibrant, light, and well balanced.
This is a can’t-miss spot for a special occasion dinner on Maui!!!

The Charn
Had dinner here recently after making reservations for an oceanside table and what an amazing experience it was! We were assisted by Jordan who ensured we had an absolutely amazing experience. She was assisted by other staff who all worked to make out experience wonderful. Appetizers included a very flavorful Kale Salad and Carpaccio. Main course included a grilled Mahi mahi and filet mignon which here made to perfection! Dessert included a dish I highly recommend, the Butterscotch Pot de Creme (picture included). It was so amazing we had to take an extra back for another day! Everything was perfect from reservations (highly recommended) to departure. We will definitely be back for more!

Hands down the best meal we had on Maui and meal we’ve had in awhile. The tuna bruschetta was some of the best tuna I’ve ever had. We had the fish special with pesto risotto and a champagne reduction and it was incredible. We shared the lobster and it was also amazing. The butterscotch pot de creme was also incredible. Not a single bad bite of food.

In the reservation, I asked for a beachside table and mentioned it was my 30th birthday celebration so I’m extra grateful I was able to get the beautiful table I wanted!
With me and my best friend both being recovering alcoholics, we were excited to see that Honu has a large Mocktail menu.
Jerry was our waiter and excitedly wanted to read off the wines so when I interrupted him to let him know we don’t drink his entire energy changed .
It’s like he no longer had interest in serving us or taking our order. He made me feel so uncomfortable that I forgot to order an appetizer before our entrees. When I flagged down the sweet hostess to let her know, Jerry stormed back over and said it was OUR fault for ordering so quickly.
The food was delicious, and I wanted to have another mocktail before dessert, but my friend saw my mocktail sitting on the bar for 15 minutes before Jerry Brought it over.
It was all watered down when it got to me And it came when my dessert was halfway gone. Not only that, but Jerry said We should’ve picked a different table if we wanted the candle In my dessert to be lit. Just a lot of unnecessary comments from him.
All in all, I wanted to appreciate the bright blue eyed woman Who’s positive interactions help made my birthday special. I think her daughter is also a hostess because she is the one who told me our waiter’s name. I hope Jerry can find some aloha in his life!

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and made a reservation at Honu Oceanside, and it may end up being the best decision we make on this trip. This was easily one of the best dining experiences we have EVER had.
We sat down outside on the patio sitting right on the edge of the ocean, a truly breathtaking view. We were quickly greeted by our server Megan who was FANTASTIC, she was beyond helpful for us picking food and cocktails on the menu to try and she nailed every suggestion. She was quick to get our drinks and food out and was right there for when we needed anything all night I’ve never had better service at a restaurant.
Appetizers we got the Cesar salad, Burrata, & the Filet Mignon Carpaccio and my god were they all 10/10. For dinner I got the Crab Mac & cheese, she got the Scallops. The only down side of getting the appetizers we got was saving room for dinner we both were licking the plate for everything they brought out.
To cap off the story we were unlucky in the sense that we were told it never rains in this area and it has been going through a drought, and low and behold while we’re at this amazing spot Mother Nature didn’t want to cooperate. On the fly Megan and Justin one of the owners came over scooted our table under some cover, and made us feel as comfortable as they possibly could have. My wife was sitting there a tad chilly from the wind and rain, and the brought over a shall for her to put on. Seems like small details but I couldn’t leave this part out because of how above and beyond the went from the moment we walked in.
Megan, Justin, and the entire staff thank you so much for making this a truly unforgettable dining experience on our honeymoon. If you have got to the end of this long winded review I would do anything possible to get a reservation at Honu Oceanside you will NOT regret it!!!!!

A friend recommended going to Honu, so we came for our last night in Maui & all I can say is wow! The view of the ocean is amazing. Our server, Megan, was great. We were given a complimentary toast for our honeymoon & the food was delicious. It was cheaper than Mama’s Fish House but still expensive, although I think it was worth every penny. I’m so happy we came here before leaving.

This place was truly the cherry on top of an amazing honeymoon! My husband and I went here for our last dinner in Hawaii before heading home and it didn’t disappoint. The service was excellent from the start. The view was obviously gorgeous and seriously the most ideal spot for a romantic dinner. But the view is a given, it’s the food, beverage and service that make it spectacular. Our cocktails were delicious and the chefs special (mahi mahi with lobster bisque risotto) was to insanely delicious. They sent us the cutest dessert in celebration too, a very nice touch. Book a table here! Honu Team, thank you for such a memorable and special dining experience!
