This place is a small niche place with good food. The servers were pleasant. The food was good to especially the split pea/ham soup!! What i really liked about the place was the size of the room because there were about 14 people in the room, and we started a group chat. This reminded me of the old diners which faded as the larger food chains pushed them out.

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast, hands down. Not terribly expensive, and the food and coffee are always good. The staff are very friendly and you never have to wait long for your meal. Highly recommend!

Delicious breakfast! Usually breakfast spots salt way too much. Not here. Eggs were perfect and the home fries were the best. Minimal amount of butter to get crisp. New remodel looks really nice. Staff was amazingly pleasant. Very reasonable prices.

Moved to S Hills area 11 years ago from out of state. Been driving past Frank and Shirley’s quite often. 1st time in was on 10-3-25. So sorry we never ate here before! Greeted w friendliness immediately by a nice young man who said sit anywhere. He followed us to our table w menus and offered us beverages asap. Frank & Shirley’s was extremely clean! You notice how pleasant & clean it is as soon as you enter. Nice and bright & every table not in use was clean & ready. Our service was prompt & professional by the young man and by our waitress. Excellent timing to take our order. Not rushed into ordering. She saw our menus go down & she was over soon and asked if we were ready. The front end staff seemed to know many diners by using their names, or greeted them by name as they came in & asking about them, their health, or their family. Love this place. Friendly, comfortable, clean, bright, & folksy w great food! Our food came out quickly, while also fresh, & hot. Food looked good & tasted great. We both had breakfast-The eggs were done perfectly for me w an excellent portion of home fries. The home fries were excellent. My fellow diner had a great looking, large meat omelette! Again, all items were hot & delicious! Definitely going back & soon! Great diner atmosphere w fresh, tasty, hot food, with attentive, professional, and very personable staff. As lunchtime approached more & more folks were coming in. Nice mix of diners-construction workers, older folks, people with lil ones on a lovely Friday in Oct.
This place would be a huge hit imo if it was a 24 hour/late night place. Seems those type places disappeared with 2020
But sure are open early at 5:30a! ❤️

Love this place for breakfast! I got a sausage and bacon omelette with American cheese, home fries and Italian toast and never had any issue with food or service! You definitely get your money’s worth! Big pieces of bacon and sausage in the omelette, home fries done to perfection and toast is perfectly toasted! If you leave this place hungry, it’s your own fault!

Had the hot turkey sandwich with fries. The turkey was real turkey which was good gravy wasn’t bad. Also had the veal cutlet parmesan. My only issue is it said it was veal cutlet but it was ground veal and wasn’t expecting it. Good thing my wife grew up on it she liked it. Dump fries were pretty good as well just needed some salt and pepper. Probably go back and try something else at some point
