We were in a hurry and Taco Bell was near by. I liked the idea because I knew they had Pepsi. The fountain was completely out of Pepsi and Pepsi zero sugar. They knew it and didn’t refill it. Why?!?! Diet Pepsi button didn’t work. Disappointed.

Food was ok and the restaurant was ok.

Go to another Taco Bell — and honestly, the brand as a whole has slipped — this used to be a pleasure to eat at when it was first built, but now this location is the worst-run operation I’ve experienced in Cedar Rapids.

For the last 5 years, this store has repeatedly been out of diet/zero fountain options, especially Mountain Dew Baja Blast Zero. This isn’t a one-off: I’ve stopped in on random days and months over that time, and I’d estimate 70%+ of visits you’re out of Baja Blast Zero and/or most diet soda options.

Today the soda machine literally had only Pepsi and regular Mountain Dew. Everything else was out — root beer, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew Zero, Baja Blast Zero, etc. When I ask, the answer is always just “we’re out.” Today I specifically asked why it’s such a common issue at this store and was told, “we’re just out.”

I work with restaurants and have industry experience—keeping fountain syrup stocked is basic inventory management. When a store misses basics this consistently, it raises a fair concern about whether other routines that require attention to detail—like fountain cleaning schedules and food-safety checklists—are being followed as reliably as they should be.

I used to let it slide, but at $11+ per combo the expectations are different. The main reason I come to Taco Bell is for a Baja Blast Zero—and when you don’t have it this consistently, I’m done with this location. At that point it’s simpler to go to Taco John’s and get better food.

Owners/management: what is going on at this location, and what are you doing to fix it? On top of the ongoing inventory issues, the staff is dismissive of customer concerns and acts like none of it matters. During my visit today the store was essentially empty, yet multiple employees were sitting on their phones instead of addressing basic issues.

Also: the heat was probably set to 60 degrees today, or not working at all, everyone was freezing inside the dining room.

Between the chronic stockouts, the attitude, and basic facility upkeep, this location is incredibly poorly managed. The dining room was freezing—on a day it was 24° outside, it felt like the heat was barely on (if it was even set above ~60). That’s a red flag that core maintenance and day-to-day operations are being neglected, and management needs to get back to basics.

If I owned this store, I’d be embarrassed by the customer experience and the lack of operational discipline.

Our order had a couple of mistakes the first time through, but when we went back through the drive-through the staff was polite and quickly fixed everything without any hassle. We did have to park and wait a few minutes for our food, but they brought it out to us with a good attitude. One odd moment was another worker coming out to take back food that had been made wrong, but overall, they handled the situation well.

I appreciate how the team made things right and kept it friendly. Mistakes happen, but good customer service makes all the difference.

I witnessed one of the manager named Jamie harassing the workers there. As a customer that should not be done buy anyone. Also i seen some of the managers sexually harassing the female workers also one of the female workers is 17 years old buy the way and these guys are like in there 30’s. The only manager I had a good interaction with was Rob and I would only want to go when he is in the building because the other put everyone in a bad mood even if you are not working there yourself. So if you decide you want to work there don’t if you are a female.

I understand its 1am on a Saturday.
I understand that what i ordered means work for you to do.
I understand you’re probably tired, from like/work/your problems.
But that doesn’t give you the excuse to act like a rude person. You signed up for the job you chose. You knew what you were gonna do when you clocked in. It doesn’t give you the excuse to act like a rude person.
Please learn to be better…
Also you forgot my sauce

Ordered 24 tacos through drive up. They asked me several times if I wanted sauce. I replied yes please, an assortment of hot and mild. They brought the order to my vehicle and I left. When I got home I realized there was No taco sauce and only 2 napkins, for 24 TACOS. The order was for contractors working on house so they had to do without.

Apparently doordash only after 2 am even though the hours are posted otherwise. I understand not wanting to work that late at night but jesus christ. Why even have the open sign on if you’re advertising hours and not serving?

It seems to be a normal thing for this store to have rude-for-no-good-reason employees. I placed a mobile order at around 9-9:30pm. Immediately was met with a rude tone when in the drive-thru at the box (where you order). Get to the window, the girl hands us the drinks and says to pull around. One of the drinks was wrong so we got her attention to get that fixed. She takes it from us aggressively, and says “here” in this attitude you’d expect from a kid. Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. And this isn’t the first time I’ve had this sort of experience from this store.

Lady with purple hair asked me to pull forward. I went into the parking lot since yall have a small drive way. She comes out with my food and complains on the headset about me pulling in the parking lot, hands me my food without a word and then rolls her eyes at me. Poor customer service
