Husband and I went here for lunch, he was in search of arroz con gandules! Husband got chicken and an empanada to follow. I got the Cuban Sandwich! Both dishes were packed with flavor and incredibly delicious as they were filling! Good portions, great atmosphere, and great customer service. Give it a try if you want Cuban food, won’t be disappointed!

This spot in Brandon is one of the area’s best-kept Cuban/Dominican treasures—though anyone who’s tasted their food knows it shouldn’t be a secret at all. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with such warmth that it feels like stepping into family.

For months, we’ve enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner here, and the consistency is remarkable. Every dish is made with fresh, quality ingredients, and you can genuinely taste the love the owner and Chef pours into her cooking. This family-owned, husband-and-wife team brings a level of care and consistency you rarely find, and it shows in the way they pay attention to every detail.

We recently brought our staff members for a holiday dinner on one of their Saturday Karaoke Nights. We had an unforgettable time, even ending the night with a friendly game of dominoes after dessert. Although a good size group, the service never missed a beat. Everyone was treated beautifully, the atmosphere was full of life, and the menu offered something for every taste—from home-style Cuban/Dominican café favorites to their à la carte dishes. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, just as it always is.

The vibe is uplifting, the Latin music sets the tone, and the homemade desserts and real Cuban cortadito are the perfect finishing touch. Everything is made from scratch, and you can feel the heart behind it.

We’ve experienced it all—breakfast, lunch, dinner, and now a staff gathering—and every single time, the food, service, and hospitality have been outstanding. This gem is a family-run, joy-filled place you simply have to try. You won’t just taste the difference… you’ll feel that warm, familiar “welcome home” the moment you walk in.

Hidden gem in Brandon… recommend!

The Cuban coffee was amazing and my breakfast sandwich was delicious. You know it’s good when you’re already planning what to order next before you even leave.

The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It truly feels like a local gem.

Huge bonus: you don’t leave smelling like food!

Got some tasty food I never tried before. Also got the sour sop juice, which is better than milk tea (A big deal for our family). Wish we lived closer to make this a more routine place for us. Hostess was super friendly and pleasant. She shared a coffee with my wife free of charge. Excellent experience overall hope you enjoy it too. Portions were very generous.

Bring your appetite and order the mango juice!! Absolutely amazing, this was my first time having Cuban food. They made me feel very welcomed and were patient in explaining the menu. Their kid’s menu is a little small so be aware that if your kids are picky they will most likely be eating chicken nuggets. I ordered the beef empanada and vaca frita con arroz, both of these dishes were amazing.

Please if you ever want to try amazing Cuban food this is definitely the place to go to. The empanadas were perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor.

Love this place! We came for dinner and got the vaca frita, some Cuban sandwiches, mango shake, colada and bread. Everything was so delicious, service was fast and the place was super clean. We met the owners and they’re super nice and walked us through the menu and recommendations. The table also had dominos to play. Highly recommend and will definitely dine here again! I forgot to take photos before we started eating, but the portions were really big!

The food at Ay Que Rico tastes just the way my family made it when I was growing up. I’m so happy I found this place. I will be coming back many more times to try everything on their menu.

What a great place. From the moment you walk through the door, you feel like you just went to your best friend’s house for dinner. The food was phenomenal. I had the frita cubana (burger with meat, pork and chorizo) and my husband had the chicken with Cuban black beans. I also had a mango milk drink, not a milkshake. My husband drank more than half of it and declared he was getting his own the next time we go. The parking is limited, but it is so worth the visit.
