First time eating here was nice. The food was very good, service was great, and we sat at the bar, so the atmosphere was fun. I had the taco’s and my wife had the chicken enchiladas. Both were very good and the Mexican rice was the best I’ve had. We will definitely be back.

The nachos were delicious. The chips were high quality and the toppings were generous. I just wish there were more chips because in was left with a bunch of toppings. And watch out for their red hot sauce, it’s a lot spicier than most restaurants. But still good.
The torta was just alright. I ordered it with chicken but they made it with steak.

First off, the service was AWFUL! I came at the end of 2024 and this place was amazing, with amazing service and food. I was excited to return from out of town. This was a horrible experience and we won’t be back. When we got there we were given chips and one small bowl of salsa. Not the bigger sized ones, the small ones smaller than the palm of your hand. This was supposed to serve 5 people? I asked for another salsa as soon as the first came out. We also ordered chori-queso. By the time the chori-queso came out, we still hadn’t received the salsa. I said can we please have an extra salsa. A few minutes passed and it came. I also asked for more chips for the question. How on earth were we charged for extra chips and salsa when we weren’t given enough for 5 people from the beginning?? The service was painfully slow. We had to ask to get our drinks refilled. We had to get their attention for a box and check. We were never checked on. When food came is the only time we had interaction. Also, when the food came, the waiter expected me to grab my own plate from his hands. I moved out of his way for him to set it on the table. Awful service! We sat in the back room and it was soooo loud. People yelling back in the dishroom or store maybe? Idk but it was super disturbing.
When we got our check we caught that 18% gratuity was added on and also a credit card surcharge fee. First of all, the menu says 18% added on if 7 or more people. We had 5. Also, why would a surcharge fee be added if they didn’t know if we were using a card or cash. We waited forever to pay the bill and finally I walked up to pay it. I asked her why their was gratuity added on when we only have 5 people. She said I think it’s that way if it’s over $100. Our bill came to $96.66 after tax, before surcharge and gratuity. I said no the menu says 7 or more. She changed it.
Now, for the food. Because the service was so bad I had to start there. The food lacked flavor. It was amazing a little over a year ago. I brought my fiance here to try and was highly disappointed. I hyped this place up so much. It was definitely a let down. Especially driving half hour out of our way home to Indiana.
I will NEVER return here.

The food here is amazing, but the people are also! So friendly, so cozy, so inviting! I ordered takeout, but sat in while it was prepared and everyone was extremely nice. ❤️

La Mexicana Restaurant is insanely good. The tacos, tamales, and guacamole are unbelievably authentic, bursting with rich, bold flavor, and clearly made with real care. Every dish tastes like true traditional Mexican cooking, the kind that sticks with you. On top of that, the service is just as amazing as the food; the staff is genuinely kind, welcoming, and attentive, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere the moment you walk in. This place has easily become my favorite Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to.

The service was great, and there are a few different dining areas to choose from and a grocery store to browse through. It’s was so clean and the food was amazing and authentic! I had the alambre, which was delicious their portions are huge! Everything was perfectly seasoned exactly how you would want Mexican food to be seasoned! It’s been a few days, and I’m still thinking of how delicious their salsa was!

Authentic Mexican “hole in the wall” restaurant. Perfect! Had a great lunch here with great tamales, chilaquiles, and other traditional foods. The sauces were made in house and packed both flavor and heat. Will definitely visit again next time we’re in the area!
