Social Profile:

The Jalapeno Tree is a family owned full service restaurant with a passion for Crazy Good Mexican Food. We strive to create a family friendly environment with a focus on fresh food, quality ingredients and exemplary service. Celebrating over 30 years of business has allowed our Pepper Posse team to create unique food experiences using fresh, healthy ingredients in a made to order scratch kitchen. While fajitas remain a local favorite, items like our Summer Salmon Salad with fresh watermelon, oranges, pineapple, and salmon over a bed of greens provide refreshing options. We know rice and beans are a must for Mexican Food but, we like to change things up with offerings of squash/zucchini, tortilla soup, and Key West veggies as optional sides

Informal Mexican chain with a big menu of hearty staples, plus a few American dishes.

Flauta tasted like a Crispito, from strips. Charro beans aren’t charro enough super thick bean juice like thicker than ranch style beans. Rice was med, to much Cummins. Enchiladas were ok, crispy taco could use some moisture in the meat. Service was A1 very friendly and polite. Inside of the restaurant was clean.

The salsa was to die for their beef nachos came out perfectly. The meat was still hot, and the meat was seasoned.

Racheal was extremely nice and professional

Ordered the nachos and it was the most disappointing plate of soggy chips smothered in shredded cheese id ever seen. Dont waste your time here. Tiny menu. Food wait times are long. The service is great. Super nice people. But the food is very sub par. Dont spend your money just to be let down like I was

The hostess was not friendly at all. She even had an attitude with the manager on duty. Food was hot and fresh. Waitress was friendly enough to us. Ice cream machine was working this visit. We will stop again the next time in town. Hopefully the atmosphere will be more pleasant than this visit.

We’re passing thru Carthage traveling from west Texas to central Florida. We stopped in for dinner at the recommendation of the front desk at our hotel. What a pleasant surprise! The exterior is charming and the interior matches. We were seated quickly and our waitress, Amanda, was at our table in a flash. She made great recommendations. We started with chips and salsa. Homemade and excellent. We had an entree called the Pablo, 2 chicken enchiladas topped with white chicken chili and a side of rice and beans; and a Jalapeno Tree salad, which was a crispy bowl filled with lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and fajita chicken with a side of guacamole and sour cream. We washed it down with a Dos Equis. What a terrific dining experience, and Amanda was extremely attentive. Bravo Jalapeno Tree! Happy New Year!

Our service is usually good… but this night we waited over an hour for our food (they were not busy) and 2 of the plates were wrong when they came out! Waitress said that’ll be ok won’t it? Then she walked off!!

Not really pleased with the food here. If your “enchiladas” are in flour tortillas, I consider them burritos. Fast service and food times (we came during lunch), but I can get that other places. Pricey for not really being what I consider Mexican food. They do make their spinach “enchiladas” with fresh spinach, so I’ll give them that. Won’t be back

I have eaten at this location so many times in the past. It’s a tried and true place to eat. Normally it’s dinner but today I stopped in for lunch and managed to grab a photo. Ordered a beef enchilada with cheese sauce and carrots beans, along with their tortilla soup from the Build Your Own Combo. It was just enough food and a great price too!
