The ribeye and onion straws that come with it were great. The grilled toast wasn’t my favorite, it needs more flavor (garlic and butter would help) besides tasting like charred bread. We shared a few appetizers, 2 of which had their house made chorizo. It was good but really didnt give me a chorizo feeling. More like ground pork with some taco seasoning. Once again it wasn’t bad just not what I expected when I read chorizo. I will also add the pricing is a touch on the expensive side for what we ordered. Our bill for 2 totaled over $167. This included 2 steak dinners, 1 appetizer, 1 iced tea, 1 beer and included the mandatory 20% tip for a large group.

One of our all-time favorites. This is one of the Cincinnati stops that we must make whenever we are back in town.
The food and the service are always reliably on point, and their margaritas are fantastic.
We love the empanadas, pork or chicken.
There is a large onsite parking lot, and an outdoor seating area if you like.

Went to El Coyote this evening for dinner and to buy 4 $100 gift cards for our kids as Christmas presents.

My wife and I ordered a pitcher of Margaritas and started to enjoy our chips and salsa with our drinks while we decided on dinner. My wife ordered a pork chop and when I ordered my normal 8 oz filet, was told they were all out of filets. As a signature selection I was surprised they could be out but more disappointed that we were not told when we ordered our drinks. Without having a filet, I wouldn’t drink enough to justfy a pitcher versus a drink or maybe two.

When the manager came by to wish us a Merry Christmas and check how everything was, he acted surprised when told how disappointed I was that they were out of filets. He tried a quick recovery and explained they were over run on Thursday and Friday and didn’t have a delivery to restock.

When we went to pay, I was told I couldn’t use my $55 Mercy Health refund card because their “system didn’t accept gift cards”.

We had gone to El Coyote to buy the gift cards but I was so disappointed that we left and went to Longhorn to buy the gift cards. El Coyote has been one of our favorites for over 30 years. I don’t know if this was just a bad night or if the current ownership doesn’t understand there are too many options for eating out to provide this kind of an experience.

My wife and I had dinner here. Our server did great, but the food was disappointing for the price.

Chips were way too salty. I got the pork chop, which came out charred and over done, and the mac and cheese, which was over cooked as well.

In terms of seating, we were sat right next to a server station and kitchen, so we had waitstaff passing by our table the entire meal.

We were seated on the “heated” patio and froze! It too 45 minutes to receive our food and it was hot. But I ordered a wrap and it was greasy and the lettuce was wilted because it was hot. The baked apples looked old and were mushy. My first time there and I was not impressed at all.

A solid 4 from this first-time diner. My wife had been there plenty of times before we met but hadn’t been back since our marriage. She was concerned that it wouldn’t be her old favorite but she wasn’t disappointed and neither was I. I was thinking “Mexican” before I arrived but I was surprised to see steaks and pork chops front and center. There were definite threads of Mexican but a little more “Tex” than. “Mex” from my perspective. I ordered a ribeye and a Caesar salad and my wife ordered a pork chop with mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. Both meals came with onion straws which were a welcome addition to our plates. Her pork chop was nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. One of the best chops I’ve ever had. She loved the mashed which had plenty of butter and the perfect amount of salt. I like a thicker mash but it was definitely tasty. The pasta in her mac was over-cooked for my liking and tasted like a Velveeto and rotel-based sauce which was ok but I expected a little more. My ribeye was perfectly seasoned and properly cooked – no complaints. The Caesar salad had a good anchovy kiss to it and the banana pudding we took home for dessert got two thumbs down from my wife and I because of the heavy imitation banana flavoring (the whipped cream broke as well – try their carrot cake instead). Service was great too. All in all an experience worth repeating again.

As a 30+ year patron I was surprised at the changes since I was last there. The ambiance was much better before the gray paint job. I miss the old Mac n cheese white cheese recipe and the price increases were a bit much. This was the place we celebrated every birthday and special occasion. Glad I have those good memories.

My boyfriend and I went here on date night which happened to be the first big snowstorm it was very cozy being able to watch the snowfall out the windows and sitting by the fire. The decor is adorable I loved it. The food was very good and their margaritas were some of the best. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating, she was an older lady with short hair and glasses she had been working there for a very long time 20 years I believe I over heard. She was a doll and really made our night out great. It was a little pricey but we used a gift card but definitely will only go back on special occasions.

Me and my fiancé went here last night for date night we really enjoy trying new places so we thought we would give this one a try. While waiting for a table in the patio area we order drinks a sex on the beach and frozen margarita handed the bartender a $20 and only got $2.50 back! Very over priced but the bartender was extremely nice so we brushed this off. Waited 5 mins and our table was ready for us. As we walked through the restaurant I could not help but notice how very outdated it was several steps you must go up and down and the floor was gross food on it stained and just nasty. As we sat outside we order more drinks draft beer and strawberry margarita (which once I got the bill were $4 and $4.25) and we order an appetizer dip which had cheese mash potatoes and shredded pork in it. The appetizer is big enough to feed 4 people easy but was not to bad we both enjoyed it however the spoon given to us for the appetizer was dirty and had food caked on it from previous use. We had the spoon swapped out and our waitress did not even say sorry for the inconvenience which would of been nice. Our waitress then brought us salsa and chips, the chips were very salty and the salsa was too chunky not to mention had some spice at the end (beware if you don’t like hot peppers). We also ordered dinner my fiancé ordered pork chops with bell pepper and Mac and cheese, baked potato served with Texas toast and onion straw. I ordered pork chops with ribs Mac n cheese and salad also served with onion straws and Texas toast. The only reason I give this restaurant a 2 is because of the pork chops which were beyond amazing! Juicy thick and tender the pork chops are delicious! However the rib was tender but no flavor the bbq sauce used on top was gross. Mac and cheese was horrible big noodles and tons of processed cheese with a few peppers in the mix I took 2 bites and left it. The salad was decent nothing fancy however the croutons were soft and stale I believe they were old and been around for a while. Baked potato came wrapped in foil not cut or buttered they just hand u cups of butter. The worse and most disappointing thing on the whole plate was the toast… it literally was a slice of white bread grilled on each side and thrown on a plate. No season not even butter just stale burnt bread. Overall our meal was $80 for 2 great pork chops and a decent appetizer that’s it. If we ever come back we will only order pork chops nothing else. Way over priced for what this place has to offer!
