In 2017 Khaled el Hady, a telecom engineer decided to take a leap of faith; to quit his corporate job and peruse his long life passion of creating the perfect sushi roll. Shortly after, Khaled founded SUSHIMI, a sushi catering service, initially for family and friends, which later evolved to a premium sushi caterer, delivering an artisan sushi experience to corporate and celebrity events. As SUSHIMI grew, Chef K’s passion also grew, and that’s when he decided to open his first artisan sushi restaurant; delivering a premium hand crafted sushi experience for everyone. And today, we have made this dream a reality, and welcome you and your loved ones to SUSHIMI.

The best sushi I’ve ever had!
Premium flavors & great dining experience.
We came in on a busy evening, so all tables were full. We still got to get in & sit on the “bar” (a narrow counter), which wasn’t too bad.
Would love to come back. Hoping to meet chef K next time.
Since I arrived in Egypt, whenever I feel like having sushi, this is the place I choose.
The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are well balanced, the technique is solid, and the attention to detail is evident in every piece.
A consistently excellent experience that earns the trust of anyone who truly understands sushi.
Highly recommended.
I tried Zayed branch a year ago and the sushi was amazing!!
Yesterday, I recommended the place to my friends saying that is the best sushi they could ever taste in Egypt but we ended up eating something that has nothing to do with even average sushi!
The pieces were tiny, tasteless, I couldn’t taste any salmon although most of the pieces were salmon based!
Everything was bad, we payed almost 800 Le per person in return we got no quality, taste nor even a decent portion that could make anyone full!
I was really disappointed and regretted taking my friends in there, absolutely my last time to step a foot in this place.
The first attached image is the sushi in Zayed branch a year ago. The rest of the images are from the horrible yesterday’s experience.

As for the staff and service, it was a bit slow, so I’d give it a 6/10.
But I really loved the atmosphere and location!

We didn’t have a reservation, and they told us the wait would be around 1.5 hours — we agreed. But then, people who came after us were being let in before us. We even checked the list to be sure.
At one point, I joked with my friends, saying, “I am not Egyptian,” and suddenly the staff’s behavior changed — but only towards me, not my friends. They apologized and let us in right away.
As for the food, the raw dishes were fresh and clean, especially the salmon tartare — it was amazing! But anything with sauce, Philly cheese, or fried was too heavy, and you could barely taste the seafood. The shrimp dynamite, for example, was just okay — honestly, Bahary does it better in terms of taste and portion.
Overall, I’d rate the food 6.5/10. We sat in the back indoor area, which had very loud music and felt stuffy — I needed some air.
Final score: 7.5/10. I don’t regret going, but I probably wouldn’t rush back.
Realitvely Small portions, we paid nearly 3 times the normal high quality alternatives pricing and didn’t get half as full.
Overall good experience but not worth the money, wouldn’t go back again.
The place, the atmosphere, the food, and the service are all 10/10.
The sushi roll sizes have been reduced, many rolls have been removed from the menu, and now you’re forced to order six pieces of each roll instead of having more flexibility. These changes have really hurt the experience and made the place feel like it has fallen off.
Honestly, if the goal was to cut costs or increase profitability, it would have been better to simply raise prices while maintaining the premium quality and variety that made the restaurant stand out. Instead, these changes have just frustrated a lot of loyal customers.
The service is extremely poor. The interiors of the place and the seating is so cheap it feels like a cheap cafe in Nasr city or Mohandessin.
We asked for wipes but they didn’t have any. The waiters were so quick in cleaning the table to the extent that they almost took the plates from in front of us.
