In town visiting family and my Mom insisted we try this place so we went on a Saturday. Definitely off the beaten path but the service was great and the waitress was super nice. The food was pretty good and I actually had low expectations coming into the place. I had the catfish plate with fried okra and turnip greens. Overall the portions of catfish were bigger than I expected which was good. The food could use a bit more seasoning as the seasoning on the catfish was kinda bland, the turnip greens were really good and they needed more seasoning also. The fried okra was good to go. As soon as you sit down, there is already some bread on the table, but I noticed that folks who came later, they had darker bread which looked more normal for the dinner rolls. We ate them though before I noticed others had darker rolls and they tasted fine. Like I said before, the place it out the way and it’s in KY, so fair warning. I’d go back again if we could have the same waitress, she was funny and cool and treated us well. Food is very inexpensive here btw. I live in Oregon and this same meal would have been double. Great sweet tea also.

Road trip on a hot Saturday. Nice little hometown eatery if you are in the area. Food was good but seemed a bit bland. Wait time for order was 35 mins but I think they were short staffed. The intense heat, clientele in the dining room and kitchen heat made the restaurant very hot. We will go back when the weather is not so oppressive.

Went through the week and caught them when it wasn’t too busy. Food was good and the wait was short. The servers were pleasant and it was all very laid back. I noticed a couple of people who appeared to be regulars and watching the interaction with staff and guest was heart warming. My only complaint, our plates were messy. The gravy that came with our meals was somehow on the bottom or maybe the bottom of the sides of our plates. We kept getting that on us and spreading it everywhere despite trying not to. The other thing happened when my husband pulled his chair out. He got something sticky on his hand. Likely food from another patron(likely a child?). We did not complain bc everything else was nice and we both realize stuff can happen. We just wiped stuff down ourselves and enjoyed some comfort food. It was worth the drive and we return sometime in the future.

What a terrific little gem of a place. Clean, food was of outstanding quality, price is right. Best salad bar in TN and KY! Highly recommend. We will be back!

I have no complaints whatsoever! This is a great place to eat! Food is great, server was one of the best I’ve ever had anywhere, and restaurant was very clean! I highly recommend this place to everybody! This is the first time I have ever ate here and hopefully not the last! I have every intention of eating here again even though it is about an hour from where I live! Thanks for a pleasant experience!

Catfish dinner was very good! The special for ribs and catfish was excellent. Definitely expected to pay more. The waitress was nice and checked on us a few times. Will definitely good back again!

I have to say this is one of the best little dinners I’ve been to in a long time . Got the caption special and omg . Way more then I can eat for very cheap $22.99 . Stuffed crab , catfish, clam srips, two different kinds of shrimp , hush puppies, and two sides . Plus while you wait which was about 5 mins you get rolls and corn bread. My waitress haley way very friendly and very quick . She was absolutely just lovely. Thank you for the great service. Definitely a 10 out of 10.

I ordered a hamburger steak, which usually comes as ground steak, provolone cheese with the veggies. I received a cheeseburger with the onions and peppers on top. Very disappointing. The green beans were too salty to even eat.
We used to love to eat at Earl G Dumplin’s, but recently the service and quality of food is extremely poor.

Good southern cooking. The building is a bit ran down, but that isn’t a deal breaker in my book. Well worth the try if you’re in the area
