China Star in Bismarck is a true paradise for lovers of Asian cuisine!
The buffet is huge: everything from classic sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and noodles to sushi, broccoli steak with rice, and a variety of soups. There’s something for everyone.
What impresses me the most is the quality of the dishes — everything is fresh, flavorful, and generous in portions. I love coming here and trying a little bit of everything — I discover new flavors every time.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff are welcoming and the cleanliness and order make dining here a real pleasure.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Asian dishes and leave fully satisfied!

Eat here all the time. Never had a bad experience…one of my favorite places to eat! Stir fry pictured get with rice. Damn good if you get the sauses right. I use all the dark ones and no bright red seeds lots of hot ginger seeds. Tap the pic to see my plate. I use the shrimp on the buffet on weekdays since they don’t have it on the stir fry bar until the weekends. Works great. I MISSED THE ICE CREAM MAKER BECAUSE I HATE SUGAR BUT THEY HAVE ICE CREAM TOO, MY BAD.

Talk about an unexpected surprise! First time in Bismark (for work) and wanted something close to my hotel. Also been on a Chinese buffett kick so when this was less than half a mile away, that was that. Have to admit, I wasn’t expecting this quality from a Chinese place in North Dakota, but I gotta tell ya, that was THE BEST hot and sour soup ive ever had! The noodles and fried rice were right up there as well, if id only eaten those three things id have been more than happy. But they have a HUGE selection and I didn’t taste anything i didn’t like. All the classics (Tso’s, mushroom, Mongolian, sweet & sour, etc. ) and that doesn’t even touch the ‘Mongolian BBQ’ they also offer. I just might go back for dinner!!

We had not tried this restaurant before but a family member recommended it. It was very good. Staff were very attentive and kept everything clean and neat. Food was yummy and it was always being refilled. Loved the selection of sushi. Will be back

So the staff is so indifferent and unwelcoming it really feels like you are bothering them by being in their restaurant, but if you can get past that the food is AMAZING! Every item I chose was outstanding. I hate overcooked restaurant veggies, but all the veggies here were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I only wish we had a buffet this good where I live. Try the watermelon!

Good buffet. (I didn’t get stir fry). Lots of choices and the sushi selection was good and fresh.
The dining room was a little loud and busy as patrons made runs on the buffet. It was busy (Saturday Night) so staff was a bit slow/overwhelmed in providing refills and clearing plates.
Overall, a good Chinese buffet.

I use to rave about this place for years, and every time I am town have stopped here for normally great food. Last time was about 6 months ago and most recently today. Food has become very bland and quality has gone down. Overall appearance and cleanliness is higher then before so that is a positive. I more then likely won’t make it a priority next time I am in town though, food was substandard, especially for the price point.
