A meat lovers paradise.
You name it, they’ve got it.
Barbecue chicken, beef, pork. And such a wonderful selection of sides. We enjoyed the Cajun shrimp, fried okra and beef burgers.
And the pork ribs of course.
Good and quick service.
Atmosphere: 6.2/10 – The relaxed vibe of this BBQ spot is perfect for diners looking to enjoy a meal in a comfortable setting. With an array of sauces to choose from, the restaurant provides a truly customizable BBQ experience. The tableclothed tables add a touch of class to the otherwise casual atmosphere.
Service: 6.4/10 – The service here is both attentive and friendly, highlighted by a server who is well-versed in the menu’s offerings. The ability to customize orders, like choosing between lean or fatty brisket, significantly enhances the dining experience. The staff’s efficiency in managing orders and providing assistance is commendable.
Nachos: 5.3/10 – These nachos are basic but come at a fair price, making them a decent option for those seeking a simple appetizer. The pulled pork is well-cooked, and the generous addition of jalapeños adds a nice spicy kick. While not amazing, they deliver on what you would expect from a standard plate of nachos.
Sloppy Joe: 7.1/10 – The Sloppy Joe shines at this establishment, with meat sauce that is both tasty and perfectly seasoned. The spicy kick is just right, enhancing the overall flavor without overwhelming it. The bun holds up well, maintaining its integrity throughout the meal, which is often a pitfall for similar dishes.
Meat Baked Potato: 4.4/10 – The Meat Baked Potato falls a bit short of expectations, mainly due to the disproportionate size of the brisket compared to the potato. It’s challenging to get a balanced bite, which detracts from the enjoyment of the dish. The concept is interesting, but the execution needs refinement to improve the dish’s flow and coherence.
All these years!!! We have been in Rolesville. And always wanted to give “Big Al’s BBQ” a try. But today the whole family was in unison and we did. Now we are saying to ourselves, why, why! Have we not tried them yet. On 4th of July, we were able to get a full rack of ribs combo, brisket combo, side order of Hush puppies, and Brunswick stew.
I will tell you this much, The Family enjoyed each and every dish and side. It was nice and worm, and so delicious. And big sauce selection.
I want to thank them for being open on July 4th.
I was able to feed my family of Four for about $70. To me that is a deal, especially with the wonderful taste.
I am a customer from here on forth…
However, my disappointment was with the food. We ordered Brisket plates with Mac and Cheese and cabbage. The Brisket tasted like it had been cooked and then rinsed off. There was no flavor other than “meat.” I tried 2 of 3 different sauces but they tasted similar to ketchup, bottled BBQ sauce, and I didn’t taste the 3rd one. The Mac and cheese was mushy with no seasoning. The cabbage was like eating raw grated cabbage in warmed chicken stock. The hush puppies were ok.
We also had collards (tasted canned), corn nuggets (were not done), and the baked sweet potato was plain with only a slice of butter.
This was our first tie trying this place and we had high hopes, but sadly we were disappointed. I do have pictures.
Ordered brisket, tender decent crust, no flavor.
Ordered brisket sandwhich, with lean brisket, came out fatty.
Slaw is 5/10 and little amount very runny
Hush puppies and corn bread were amazing
Total was 58$ which is expensive for 2 meals 2 sides one entree.
